This review will detailing multiple visits over the summer. I do have some positive things to add and I will write about them at the end of this review. The first experience at the LSA this summer was very slow to make it worse the service was terrible. Rather than checking in and maybe explaining why service was extreme slow, in an empty restaurant, instead we where just ignored. Furthermore it seemed the waitress was taking her frustration out on us the customer? The next visit was late at night with a live band. The atmosphere was great and so was the music. Again unfortunately the service wasn't (same waitress). She did not greet the table with a smile, instead it felt like she was pissed that we decided to come in and enjoy the music. Her displease was further shown when I placed an order of onion rings. Usually these are fantastic highly recommend, but unfortunately they were served to the table burnt. You can imagine the response I received when I informed the waitress. Due to her less than professional attitude I was afraid to reorder, with not a single onion ring removed from the basket the waitress removed the basket and never asked anything about them, again just ignored the situation. The next visit was shocking Vegetarians beware! They offer very little in the way of vegetarian which is normal and I have become accustomed to with many restaurants. One item the have is the roasted veggy wrap, which is served with no meat. During my time enjoying this wrap I suddenly noticed a foreign texture. It was chicken!? I was not pleased but this time we had a great server and she tried to remedy the situation. Although the damage was done at least we were not ignored! The next time we visited was for breakfast. Because they had no vegetarian options I asked if I could have a toasted tomato sandwich with some lettuce and cheese. The waitress was great and had no issue making it happen. The sandwich was great no complaints it was unfortunately the potatoes which were served nearly raw!? The waitress did not ignore this and took 10% off the bill, which was great. I was a little shocked to find out later that my sandwich cost $15. Now I understand I ordered off the menu, but $15!? Okay now that I got all that out of the way, their beer is great always cold which goes great with patio and atmosphere. You might ask yourself why I keep returning? it is because the food is great when it is fully cooked and not all the waitresses are bad and rude. Moreover the reason I decided to write this review is in hopes that it will help them become better because this is a gem and when it is good it is great....
Read more**Edit to my original review: My husband and I went over March break to try the "Pint & a Pound" special. The servers were overwhelmed and it took about 30 minutes to get our food, and instead of buffalo sauce as ordered, we received honey garlic. The server offered to change it but we just asked for buffalo on the side as it was already getting late. Thinking the issue was likely due to it being March break and apparently the POS system being down, we decided to try again last Tuesday...stood at the hostess station for a while before being seated by I assume a family member of the owners (as we haven't seen her serving before). She didn't give us menus and finally after 10 minutes my husband got up and grabbed us a couple. We decided to just get the special again. After another 10 minutes we got the attention of the server who seated us. She wrote our order down and brought us our waters that we hd asked for. She then approached us 10 minutes later to ask if she could take our order. I reminded her that she already had and reiterated our order. She said she remembered and went off to serve others (the table next to us got up and left because 2 of the people were served and had finished their meals before the 3rd person was served, so they took the final order to go. Another table asked for 15 minutes to pay - finally they went to the bar and asked a 4th time before she presented them with their bill) We watched more people come in, be seated and then receive their orders before us. After sitting for 35 minutes, I spied the server and walked over to her and asked if our order was ready? She said that I told her someone else had served us. I said that was wrong & I said she had already taken our order. Then she proceeded to argue with me! With that my husband got up and said we were going! Then she chased after us asking us to sit down and she would put our order in!? She followed us through the restaurant until we had to curtly tell her that we absolutely were not going to sit back down!!! Complete disaster 2 weeks in a row - do not waste your time & money!!!! **
Original Review: Very friendly service, big menu and good tasting pub foods! What more could you want...
Read moreMy girlfriend is new to the area and we decided to check out a new place for date night and I must say this had to have been one of the best experiences at a “pub style” restaurant I’ve had in a LONG time.
I really wish I got our servers name because she was part of the reason the experience was so good. She didn’t come and ask us how the food was every 12 seconds which was phenomenal but when she was present she was incredibly friendly, we made great conversation and overall just resonated great energy (if you see this, we hope you had an awesome time at the screaming heads in burke falls). We would definitely come back solely based on the experience with the staff however, the second element that plays a huge role in the review is of course the food so let me tell you all about that….
We decided to order off of the weekend specials menu, we started with the chicken curry rolls which we learned the owners wife makes herself exclusively for the specials and they did not disappoint, they were absolutely delicious. Now for the main course, I ordered the seafood linguine and I’ll be honest, I set myself up for “disappointment”. I’m sure you know how it is when it comes to ordering seafood at a restaurant, you always assume they’d get skimpy on the portions but let me tell you…they did the COMPLETE opposite. My seafood linguine has 12 mussels, 4 big shrimp, about 6 scallops and the equivalent of an appetizer portion of calamari all in a single order of seafood linguine. When I say this meal challenged me, that is an understatement. I genuinely had to push myself to finish the plate and the food coma afterwards was definitely worth it! Before anyone says it, yes I know it’s uncommon to order seafood linguine at a pub style restaurant and I assure you I originally wanted to get a burger but when I read the description in the specials menu, I had to go for it!
If I could leave a 6 star review I would. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the...
