It’s that magical time of year again—where my husband gets his hands on his precious fruit cake from McFadgen’s Bakery in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia ❤️. Since we can’t just pop over and grab one for ourselves, thank goodness Giant Tiger is here in Ontario to save the day! Fruit cake has never been my thing, but him? He LOVES it especially McFadgen’s!
As for me, I still remember, as a little girl, my parents taking me to that bakery in Glace Bay on our way to my grandmother’s. I can still smell all the fresh-baked goodies—it was pure heaven! My absolute favorite? Those molasses cookies, which still bring back the sweetest memories. I swear, I’m probably still carrying a few of them on my hips 🤦‍♀️🤣.
