We visited Indian Kitchen in May, 2023 with high expectations, but unfortunately, my dining experience was far from satisfactory. From start to finish, the restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards of service and quality. I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience to warn others and encourage the restaurant to improve.
First and foremost, the service was incredibly slow and disorganized. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait for an excessive amount of time before being seated. Once seated, it took ages for the waiter to acknowledge our presence and take our orders. The lack of attentiveness and care from the staff was evident throughout the evening.
Moving on to the food, it was a complete letdown. The menu boasted a wide variety of options, but the actual execution fell flat. The dishes arrived lukewarm, lacking the freshness and flavor one would expect. The presentation was sloppy, with haphazard plating and careless attention to detail. It was clear that the kitchen staff lacked the necessary skills or dedication to deliver a satisfying meal.
Furthermore, the portion sizes were incredibly small for the high prices charged. I left the restaurant feeling hungry and unsatisfied, and I'm sure many others have experienced the same disappointment. It's essential for a restaurant to strike a balance between quality and quantity, and unfortunately, Indian Kitchen failed in both aspects.
To make matters worse, the staff was rude as well. The waiter who attended out table was careless and not interested in guest experience at all. The most strange thing we noticed is that he was behaving poor with all east indian customers (confusing!!).
Finally, despite bringing these issues to the attention of the waiter, the response was apathetic and dismissive. It's disheartening to see a lack of accountability and a refusal to acknowledge and address valid concerns.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against dining at Indian Kitchen. The subpar service, mediocre food quality, inadequate portion sizes, and unwelcoming atmosphere all contribute to an overall negative experience. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant, urging them to make the necessary improvements to regain their customers' trust...

I visited this restaurant with my family, but unfortunately, we had a very disappointing and upsetting experience — one that seemed driven by discrimination against us for being Gujarati.
We arrived at the restaurant around 9:15 PM and were told to wait. We waited patiently until 10:35 PM without any complaints. After finally got the food, we were served naan that was barely a quarter of the normal size. Although I found that unusual, I chose not to complain and let it go.
However, the most shocking part happened at the time of billing. I overheard two individuals in the kitchen speaking disrespectfully about Gujaratis. They were making several racist and offensive remarks, including saying things like, “Gujjus come here just to snatch food,” along with other inappropriate comments. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and deeply hurtful.
And a report has been sent to British Columbia food and service department.
Note to the Owner:
I strongly urge you to take strict action against the individuals in the kitchen who made those racist remarks. Every customer, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background, deserves to be treated with respect. If you would like help identifying the person involved, I’d be happy to provide a photo. Please feel free to respond or react to this comment,I will sent it in private.
There was also a male staff member who identified himself as the supervisor. I want to be clear that he was very respectful and polite throughout our visit. If the owner is reading this, please do not take any action against him, as he conducted himself professionally and...
Read moreI had a fantastic dining experience at Indian Kitchen in Golden, BC, and ordered a variety of dishes: Paneer Lababdar, Paneer Kadai, Dal Tadka, Butter Naan, and Jeera Rice. Here’s my take on this delightful meal. The Paneer Lababdar was exceptional, with a creamy, tomato-cashew gravy that struck a perfect balance of rich, mildly sweet, and subtly spicy flavors. The paneer was soft, soaking up the sauce beautifully, making every bite indulgent. It paired wonderfully with the Butter Naan, which was perfectly soft, slightly charred, and generously buttered, delivering that authentic tandoori experience. The Paneer Kadai brought bold, vibrant flavors to the table. The kadai masala was aromatic, with a smoky, spicy kick, and the bell peppers added a satisfying crunch. While it was slightly oilier than I’d prefer, the taste was so robust that it didn’t detract much from the enjoyment. It complemented the Jeera Rice, which was fragrant, fluffy, and infused with just the right amount of cumin for a simple yet flavorful side. The Dal Tadka was comforting and well-cooked, with tender lentils and a decent tempering of spices. It leaned a bit mild compared to the punchy paneer dishes, but it was still a solid addition to the meal, especially when mixed with the rice. The ambiance at Indian Kitchen was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured the food arrived hot and fresh. Portions were generous, offering great value for the price. This spot is a gem for Indian cuisine in Golden, particularly for its stellar paneer dishes and naan. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their...
