Easily the worst experience I have ever had at a Cora's happened today.
The tables aren't spaced well for social distancing. Sure the ones in front and behind you are a somewhat adequate distance away but when you get a table with people on either side it's just not good.
Either there were too many tables for the number of cooks in the kitchen or our waitress forgot to put in half of our order because we waited almost an hour for our food.
Our server wasn't as attentive as she could have been. Half of our party waited more than 10 minutes before she came to take a drink order, she didn't bring water to half the table, and forgot one of the coffees. I think the whole section suffered because another table didn't get silverware and waited for quite a while for someone to come around to remedy the situation.
While we waited, we watched other tables seated after us get their meals and when I asked about ours I was first told their egg poachers were busy. The second time I was told they ran out of hollandaise... Except other tables around ours were getting servings of eggs benedict without a wait.
When our plates finally arrived, half of it was cold while the other half was lukewarm. The child's crepe had been sitting under the warmer for far too long as it was really hard to cut.
The manager on duty did give a 50% discount to our bill but, really, I would have been happy with transparency and honesty throughout the visit. If your cooks are backed up, let us know. If you ran out of hollandaise sauce, we can order something different. Come by with water while we wait.
I don't like to complain about places but seriously, I expected so much better from a chain with such a...
Read moreThis used to be a great establishment, it's too bad the owner has zero customer service. We have visited before, and were never disappointed with the food, although the service was sometimes terrible, we decided to go again. My hubby ordered something off the menu that the waitress couldn't tell us whether it was good or not as "it was a new item". Decided to try it, came out cold, with slices of lunch meat pepperoni and ham on top of half raw potatoes. One sad poached egg on the side. It tasted like absolutely nothing, so after two bites, we had to flag the waitress down (never did a table check to make sure we were happy) and asked to have something different. She then went to the manager, who never came to us to rectify the situation, and we were told we would still have to pay half price for the meal we sent back AS WELL as if he wanted something else pay full price. He said forget it, that he would not pay for any of it, and the waitress said "I'll let her know". We were ignored by the server and the manager for the rest of the meal, and he just ate half of my food. When we went to the til to pay for my meal, the manager still attempted to charge for half of the meal even though it wasn't eaten or remade, and then proceeded to argue with us about it. She made us pay for the uneaten meal , telling us it was "theft" if we didn't pay. Absolutely worst customer service I have experienced in Grande Prairie and will never be back...
Read moreI'm not usually one to complain about restaurants and I feel like working in one is a thankless job, but I went to Cora's on the weekend for the first time and it was by far, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Our server did the best she could despite not checking in once she delivered our food, but the food was absolutely awful and the prices were outrageous considering. The waitresses were run off their feet, our group of 6 had to wait 30 min to be seated and during at least 15 of that there was a table available but we were told because there was less than 4 members of our group were there, they had to wait (standing at the door). One members meal didn't get made and she had to wait 15 min, though she did get a complementary smoothie. Once we got our food, it was terrible. The eggs tasted like fish, the English muffins tasted dusty, the potato's were soggy and slimy despite asking for them to be well done and the hollendaise sauce was the worst I've ever had, not to mention I asked for extra and it was $3-$4 for about a quarter of a cup - to top it all off, everyone's entire meal was * ice * cold. I will never eat there again, and feel bad for the...
