First time here, will not be my last. The Good - prices, service and most of the food. The Red Rock tacos with taco brisket. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Memphis ribs, best ribs I have ever had in a restaurant. The Bad - sliced brisket. Dry and tasteless, I will stay away from this next time. Over all, I would highly recommend the Red Rock Urban BBQ.
EDIT* Went again after a few years and I was so disappointed. We were very excited to go again as it had been a while.
The Good: *Chicken wings. Absolutely delicious flavor. The sauce we choose was the Honey Hot on smoked wings. They were not hot, just warm, but very tasty. *Twisted Mac and Cheese with brisket. Get the brisket with it, very good. The Mac and Cheese alone would have been a disappointment otherwise. It was dry and just warm.
The Bad: Everything else. *I don't mind paying for good quality food, but $34 for a started plate was wildly overpriced for what we got. It did include the wings that were in the "good" section of my review, but everything else was marginal at best. The Cheese sticks were barley warm and clearly not house made, the jalapeno were some of the worst I have every had. Again, barely warm and the super cheap kind you can get at your local Walmart. Deep-fried pickles at least tasted half decent, though they too were only just warm.
The quantity of food was sufficient and if it had been good, the price tag would not have been an issue, but please take those Jalapeño poppers off your menu, or at least change them. There are so many ways to elevate them.
Side note, the beer selection was not accurate according to the menu provided. Several of the drinks were not available and the server had no idea what was available and...
Read moreI read the reviews for the Red Rock while waiting for our meals since it was an hour wait. We got there a little after 6 pm. The reviews were all over the place so I was not confident we were going to be happy with everything we ordered. Then the food arrived. We ordered 7 wings with "house made" BBQ sauce, a combo plate with Ribs and Brisket, two BBQ Beef Tacos with fries, and a Beet and Feta salad with steak. Everything exceeded our expectations, mind you, we were famished. Ribs were tender and flavorful, brisket was not dry at all but it did lack the flavour carried by the other meats we had. Wings were well cooked and juicy, Tacos were AMAZING, and I think the steak that was served on my salad was one of the best steaks I have had in quite a while. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Even the fries were delicious. Although we did not receive any corn bread, it was okay because there were only two of us. Husband thought I ordered too much but when it was all said and done, our to-go box carried one taco and a lonely wing home. Next time, we will try and get there before the rush but we will 100% be going back! Only thing I would recommend: HIRE MORE SERVERS AND...
Read moreI arrived before my party of 7 and sat at the bar. There was one other table and a couple guys at the bar. The server was there by her lonesome, and she was fantastic. Service was prompt, efficient, and I think I may have gotten her to crack a chuckle towards the end 😉
I had the steak sandwich, well seasoned, cooked how I ordered, and the cut was nice (in my experience, the cut of steak in a steak sandwich is hit or miss; this was a definite hit). I didn't think the grizzled onions added much to it (but, that's a personal preference thing), and I paid for the extra mushrooms, which were good.
The Dill Soup was the star of the show. My first taste took me by surprise. I put the spoon down, and had to think about what I was tasting. I mean, it delivers what it promises, dill in soup, but just so damn good! After the second spoonful, I was hooked! This would have been a 4-star review had it not been for the soup. It's one of those dishes that I am going to crave, and each visit to GP, I am going to have to go to Red Rock and order...
