We were excited to try this new quick-serve restaurant on our route to Parry Sound. Unfortunately, our first visit will be our last. The service was lacklustre; as we began to give our order, the employee walked away from us (without saying anything) and began to pack a bag for a delivery driver who was walking in from the parking lot. When the employee returned to the POS, we continued to give our order and asked a couple of questions about the dishes we were ordering (as this was our first visit and have dietary restrictions). We were told there would be no additional sauce put on the falafel bowl, however, once we unpacked our food after leaving the restaurant (it was a takeout order), the bowl was covered in sauce. The biggest disappointment was to find mold on the pita bread that accompanied the hummus appetizer (see photos). We won’t be returning and encourage takeout customers to check their order before leaving...
Read moreI originally wrote this place a half decent review, but after several disappointing visits I feel the need to update.
My latest trip to Tahinis was for a quick bite with my wife. We simply ordered 2 chicken shawarma wraps. I watched them prepare the wraps, and I thought to my self “It looks like they’re putting the same amount of chicken and toppings in both the small and large wraps, but the large pita bread is 4x the size.”
Sure enough upon receiving our wraps, we compared, and wow I was right.
The small amount of chicken and toppings were rolled about 6 times over, Leaving a 2” inch thick layer of bread surrounding the middle. I pulled enough dry bread off the sides to make another couple wraps. It was dry and disgusting, my wife’s small wrap was no better. Really disappointing. Do better Tahinis.
Pro tip - Go to Osmows around the corner
Or even better...
Read moreFirst time there as they just opened....and what a disappointment. I'm from Toronto, and a big Shwarma full of tasty meat is around $8.00. They have 3 sizes here, small, medium, and large. The small being $9.00 after taxes. Well once I got home (as they packed it to go without asking....it was the size of a taco bell burrito. If you want a $8.00 Shwarma like in Toronto or Oakville....look to pay double....plus tax. Around $17 for a Shwarma here......not worth it at all. If you're a big eater....expect to pay around $40 for your meal. Might as well go to a restaurant and have a real meal at those prices. And not to mention that its not s Shwarma, its just flavourless fried chicken. Won't ever go back.Since when is eating small cheap meals so damn expensive?...
