Huge Disappointment - I'd heard and read good reviews of this place and drove a good distance to check it out. Big mistake. In fairness, the server was lovely and the caesar salad and garlic bread were tasty but the rest was...bizarre. I ordered barbecue chicken and ribs that actually came with NO barbecue sauce whatsoever on them. It's like they forgot to put on the sauce! The ribs were lightly seasoned but dry . The chicken was also on the dry side. There was a little container in the middle of the plate containing a mysterious substance that I was told was the sauce. It tasted like a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise.
When a screaming three year old checked into the table next to me, I decided to pack it in early. The good news: there was a supermarket next door where I purchased some decent barbecue sauce that I poured on later to salvage the meal. So two words of advice. If you want to order barbecue at Steven's Bar-B-Q Restaurant bring your own sauce. And if you want a peaceful, quiet meal there, it's better to sit on the "fine dining" side of the...
Read moreWe visited Steven’s on Labour day for dinner to celebrate the last long weekend of summer. My husband ordered the 12 oz striploin and I wanted something simple so I chose the chicken strips. The meal began with a basket of garlic bread, lightly seasoned, grilled to perfection on the outside and soft on the inside. With the steak was an assortment of roasted vegetables and mushrooms and mashed potatoes. No steak sauce is needed as the striploin was seasoned and grilled perfectly. The chicken strips were great, a crispy outer coating, and moist savoury chicken. I suggest you bring a healthy appetite as servings are large. We needed to ask for containers to bring leftovers home. Of course you can’t leave without dessert, home made coconut cream pie. I ordered two slices to go which we had later after our stomachs has settled a bit. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful and inviting. Our server was friendly and attentive. We plan to visit again to try some of the other delicious meals we saw...
Read moreWent in as a "large group" and so our table was split between 2 servers, the server on my side was extremely slow and was asked for something, or we had piled dishes up (very clearly in view) and took 4 or 5 trips to the table to bring or take whatever it was. The server on my dad's side of the table was swift with her service however rude, and had interrupted my brother a couple times. 2 of the older guys in our party were EXTREMELY over served, surpassing all the training in the Smart Serve Certification and well over any legal limit. Veggies were lukewarm and some of them undercooked, ribs were just inedible; hard and the meat would not come off the bone. Their "BBQ" sauce was full of vinegar and did not taste anywhere close to an actual BBQ sauce. Some of the glasses were clearly not washed properly either. The Caesar salad and garlic bread were the only good part...
