I love that the owner responded to my post regarding my experience. What I don't love, is the lie about the burger I got. I'm sure they typically have amazing burgers, but I think they ran out of their own and went to the store and bought frozen ones...I don't know. I'm glad they have wonderful burgers. I just didn't get one of those. It would have been better if the order taker on the phone just told me they ran out. I've decided to add all this to my post from a few months ago because I am floored the owner only bragged about how great their burgers are. There was no regard to my issue. Here is the owners response: Response from the owner3 months ago I am very sorry that you had a bad experience with our burgers. Our burgers are made from scratch with grass fed, no hormones, texas longhorn beef from circle 4 ranch in Erin Ontario. And we truly hope you come back again.
It's sad that I have to say, the burger I ordered was like cardboard. The lowest quality frozen burger I have ever had. I'm posting this review to encourage this business to figure out a burger with some quality, possibly like Mega Burger or The Grind in Georgetown. They at least make an effort to make their burgers. Mega Burger is privately run and the owner makes his burgers from scratch and they are incredible! We ordered for a family of 6 once a week. His business is doing very well. This place could as well but they need to figure it out. I just moved here and thought this might be a good place to order from. I was wrong. The burger did not resemble the one on their website. Not even a tiny bit. I wish I took a photo and posted it for everyone to see what you would really get. Once a week it would be nice to order food for our family and not cook...just once. We tried it this evening and we will never eat from here again. I have a feeling I'll be cooking 7 days a week and that's fine so long as I never have to...

after a long arduous hike through the Bruce Trail at Crawford lake, we were famished. Looking for somewhere that had some good grub and a patio (without being crowded) was our goal. As we drove towards Rockwood we remember a place we passed before but have never been to - Chompin' at the Bit Bar & Grille.
We asked to be seated on the patio and the friendly hostess advised that we could but that anyone who sat there today - came inside. We braved it - and it turned out the patio is between 2 buildings - and is caught in a wind tunnel. It wasn't bad - but I understand why people left. but NOT US
We ordered the special sandwich - a grilled chicken sandwich and Fish tacos.
Both were very good. full of flavour and satisfying. I ordered fries and other person ordered carrot soup the fried are nothing to write home about but the carrot soup was delightful and flavourful.
The server - was very young - possibly her first job - but she was very attentive, friendly, engaging, and a pleasure
Having never been here before - I didn't know what to expect - and I know several people from Rockwood or areas around rockwood and no one ever recommended this place to us before. I am not sure why - because it was a perfect spot to enjoy dinner. In addition to some classic fare - they also have some elevated meals - the menu isn't huge, but it has enough to keep you coming back.
Chompin at the Bit will be included in our future dining options.
Prices are also very reasonable. Tables are spaced out nicely - so you are not bumping into others. The atmosphere is very relaxed - it seems to draw a nice diverse crowd - different age groups...
Read moreNOT IMPRESSED!! I'm a local resident and attended at 8:30pm with 12 buddies on a Wednesday evening for their wing night special .. Some how our server, Tess, missed a member of the group's order and then told us they weren't able to process his order because the system is shut down.. When we appealed to speak to a Manager, we were instructed that there wasn't one available as they went home early - and, when we then attempted to escalate & speak to the cook/kitchen staff - he blew us off immediately complaining, saying that he was overwhelmed with current orders and that he should have left by 9pm...
When we voiced that disappointment to the cook / kitchen staff, their response was, "So be it"....
Finally, when it came time to pay the bills, for the group member who wasn't able to order any food, they messed up his bill and charged him $31.25 for his glass of ginger ale - it was corrected properly. However, they didn't even offer him a good faith / customer service gesture of a complimentary glass of ginger ale for $3.25...
VERY, Very, very disappointing experience and WONT BE BACK!!
The Red Harp in Action has much better customer service & overall experience than Chompin in...
