Planet Bean Coffee - Hilltop — Restaurant in Guelph

Nice to see this coffee shop is once again, open with new management/brand. Today was our 3rd visit since they recently opened. First time “Kim”, the manager, nicely greeted us. Yesterday a pleasant young man, Adam, welcomed us and made 2 awesome lattes. Unfortunately this afternoon, our visit wasn’t as pleasant as the last two times. Heavy metal music was being played loudly there- in the coffeeshop! We were the only customers there and politely asked the make clerk if he could change the music to something more relaxing to enjoy our coffees over. Not everyone enjoys “heavy metal” music with their coffee. At least we don’t. He said he would reluctantly to what artist I preferred. I just asked for something other than his preference. He said they normally play “heavy metal” here. But heavy metal has never been played there inn our experiences and we found it very odd for him to say so and choose that type of music for a coffee shop. I picked a genre/artist which he setup on his smartphone. But as walked away he again said that “they” normally don’t change the music to the customers request. He did it this one more time unnecessarily. Obviously this interaction ruined our coffee experience by his disrespectful attitude towards a paying customer. Not sure if we’ll return in the future, but definitely will not patronize this establishment, if we see him working there...

To be honest i’ve actually never had a good drink from here. The iced Matcha was sooo bland and just not pleasant. Today i thought oh maybe i’ll try again but i got the iced chai ( my favourite drink) and it was just so bad i literally had one sip and wanted a refund. I had already left back to campus and was very disappointed i even spent my money on it. 7$ for a drink i’m gonna throw out was so frustrating....

Visited this location, was served stale coffee until we complained and offered a fresh cup from a fresh pot. Over priced and poor quality. Your loafs for a snack priced like they're made to order, and then served frozen... (Also returned) Unfortunate offerings for a cozy coffee shop. You had one staff member who took accountability for the poor surroundings provided. The star I have given was solely for...
