Food and drink: Overall the food was alright. Bought the weekly burger special. Fries were lightly salted so you are able to add more to your own liking. The burger patty unfortunately was overcooked and was not very flavourful. A huge plus is that most ingredients apart from some produce is locally sourced from Ontario farmers, as expected of UoG.

In terms of drinks, I bought the Moccachino. The quality of the drink was much to be desired. It tasted very strongly of a powder mix and water, which made it taste quite bad. Similarly, the tea did not possess much flavour and felt quite bland. On the other hand, as I was sitting at the bar, I noticed that the quality of their alcoholic drinks were high. If you do go here, avoid the coffee-based and tea drinks and go for their alcoholic drinks.

The food was well worth the cost, a burger and fries weekly special being only 10$ with a purchase of any drink.

Service: The server was great overall. The restaurant was a self-sit down, so you picked your spot and they would come serve you (No host/hostess) I picked a spot at the bar, however it took about 5 minutes to finally get a menu. After that though, the service picked up and was faster. The servers were nice and attentive and answered any questions I had, and ket me know if I needed anything else. (Although I did need to ask for water and wasn’t given to me at the start). There was also an event happening if that influenced anything.

Ambiance: Best thing about this place. Reminds me of older style of bars with a modern twist and a splash of Guelph. The lighting was warm and was not overwhelming to the senses. The airflow and the music volume was adequate, which was very comfortable. Would be good place to do work or study. The space was very open and allowed easy movement around the restaurant. The tables, floor and bathroom were clean as well.

What I would recommend is to either remove the options of coffee-based drinks and remove the heavy and bulky machinery taking up counter space, replacing it with more workspace/alcohol related items OR get an actual coffee machine and raise the prices for these drinks. (And maybe cook the patty for less)

Not one to usually write reviews but the experience here was below par. Took awhile for our server to come ask us what we'd like for drinks, when she did she missed someone at the table's drink order, claimed they had something they didn't (then proceeded to give us attitude when we were clarifying if that's what they had on tap because the menu said otherwise, she was indeed wrong about what they had on tap). When we finally got our drinks half the table was missing our drinks so we had to flag her down to say hey half the table doesn't have a drink, someone from the table still didn't get their drink and had to walk up to the bar to get it. Never got refills on our water (all we needed was another jug of water).

When the food came, again half the table was missing food, my order came without the waffle fries (just no fries at all, only chicken strips...), the food was mediocre at best, when I said hey i'm missing my waffle fries I just got regular fries. Servers and bussers also took away food and drinks before we were finished with them...

It was a busy night but there was absolutely no shortage of staff and they had 3 bartenders on. I don't see why the service was lacking so badly, and took over 15 minutes to get our drinks. It almost seems like none of the staff was trained before...

Their service didn't use to be the best in town... now it is pretty much a complete disaster. Honestly, they should just fire the servers and let people get their beer on the taps and pay for it at the bar, it wouldn't be such a shame. There were 6 servers talking or texting, while our beers were waiting for over 5 minutes on the counter. When they brought, surprise! One of the beers was the wrong one, and they had no idea what they had poured. They said it was a certain beer, but not even the colour matched. Besides it, it would take a looong time for a server to come to our table. A friend came in some time after we were there and took over 10 minutes to be able to get a glass of water. Also, don't go there hungry cause the food takes a long while to come. I used to be okay with the service cause it is a nice place and they have good food. Now, it is just impossible to not be mad at them. Very disappointed overall. I hope they get better cause it is a nice environment and inside the university. Just doesn't worth it going there considering how pissed you get. For the record, the day I was there it wasn't packed like it gets when there is trivia... So I'm sure it gets...
