Sam's Grill Guelph — Restaurant in Guelph

I would like to start with the owne, Sam is an amazing person. He worked hard to be where he is. Unfortunately the employees are tarnishing that name. I used to deliver for sam thru a delivery company. Their food is amazing. The other day I was in the area and I said "its been awhile i think ill get something" i walk in and I'm standing there thinking lf what I want and there was like 5 girl employees in there. (Sunday may 30th around 430) She became really impatient very quickly while I was trying to figure out my order. She eventually turned around and walked away from the till quietly saying something in another language and they all turned and looked at me. I don't know why she would be so impatient there was only me in the store. She was giving me dirty looks and rolling her eyes. So After that I didn't feel to comfortable with eating there. If they are willing to say something infront of me I wouldn't want to know what they do behind your back. I unfortunately left which is a shame. Sam worked hard for his establishment to be where it is just for these employees to tarnish it while he's gone. I'll try again but only if I see Sam there. If Sam is there the employees don't screw around. Sam if you're reading this I am sorry man. Love your food but hate your employees. Ill try again and see if you are in as I am craving a good poutine and burger. Theres nothing like it.

I gave it a 3 star. It deserves alot more but the employees ruin that. The lack of respect they have towards Sams customers...

We tried this place the other day for the first time, and are very regretful that we didn't go sooner! My husband and I both got combo 4 (a regular burger and a poutine on the side) we both had all the toppings with cheese and bacon added on for a small fee. Honestly, this was one of the best burgers I've EVER had...not that there was anything super fancy about it...but the ingredients are all so fresh, and they take their time assembling it so you don't open up the wrapper to a huge sloppy mess. I guess when you make things from scratch and everything is fresh, you don't need bells and whistles. The poutine was also one of the best we've had. Everyone working there was very polite and asked how things were, something you don't get at a lot of places. We will definitely be back for sure...my mouth is watering just writing about it! 😂 I'm excited to try their specialty poutines (the veggie and the Newfie...

I'm from Newfoundland, and after a three month visit I was craving one of my favorite foods from back home, donairs! My family and I were making an hour long drive looking for a spot with a great poutine and reddit recommended Sam's. One look at the menu and we notice that they also have some Newfie favorites like a Newfie mess and a classic donair. We were sold immediately! We tried a donair each along with a classic poutine, a couple of bacon poutines and a mango milkshake.

My nephew said the mango milkshake was the best drink he's ever had, he was upset that it was gone. The donair made me feel like I was home, absolutely delicious. The bacon poutine was tasty. It was all around a satisfying meal. If we ever travel to Guelph again we'll definitely be back to this restaurant. The service was extraordinary, extremely friendly as well. They really know service...
