They forgot to include garlic bread in my last order. I never complained I never said nothing. It’s just bread right? I ordered again and mention in note hey please include garlic bread this time. If you do not have it please include a replacement such as festival or fried dumpling. My order gets cancelled abruptly. Uber tells me that the merchant cancelled for unknown reason. I paid for something that I never received and never complained. I kindly asked for it this time around allowing you another chance to make it right. Now I must what until next week to get my refund of $50.35. It’s ok though cause it has all been documented accordingly. I wish them all the best. Just wanted to warn the people how malicious and vindictive that people could be. They take a bit here and there intentionally. A little goes a long way right? I’ve read other comment online about how many times they “forgot” to include small items that were paid for. Coincidence? Hmmm I think not.
Thank you for your response Jamdouns. Allow me to reply. *
didn't cancel Your order Your mistaken...Uber said You did. Happy to help resolve this issue.
**I have screen shots with Uber chat stating that the order was cancelled by the merchant.
I reviewed your account and it looks like order #34CA1 was canceled by the customer. *As mentioned I have screen shots which is evidence stating that the order was cancelled by the merchant. Not sure who’s telling the truth. You or Uber.
We’ve reimbursed you $22.38 for the order and it should show up on your next pay statement for your store, Jamdouns Food Truck.
**My bank statement shows $50.35 for the payment and for my reimbursement. Additional fees are included by Uber. I also have the receipt through Uber app and an email showing the amount for reimbursement from customer support.
We have calculated the reimbursement as follows: Amount: Subtotal of order - MPF (tax not included)
*I have evidence that the amount of $50.35 was with drawn from my bank account and then reimbursed 3 business days later. Let me be clear I was happy to order and enjoy my food. I did not cancel my order. Why would anybody in their right mind make an order then cancel just to post a comment? Uber said you canceled my order.
It is important for us to know your opinion. Remember, you will receive an email every time a case is solved so you can rate our support.
*Email received. Thanks.
It sad that some ppl try to hurt and lie hard working locally own business. Well I forgive You.. I hope You don't hurt anybody else.
*A simple apology and I would have deleted my comment. Thank you for allowing me the space to voice my concerns. I forgive you as well and hope you can do better as a...
Read moreI read the reviews before checking this place out as another local Caribbean food truck that I had tried was horrible…it wasn’t as bad as that but still disappointed. I’m used to jerk chicken meals usually including roti with cook up rice, although that usually costs more than $8.99. I guess it just doesn’t feel overly authentic when your option for a meal is one piece of jerk chicken (bone in) with a side and the options are coleslaw, onion rings, potato wedges, mixed veggies, rice and peas, and sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries were greasy, portion size wasn’t great - maybe a handful, chicken was ok (bone in) but just not a great value for $8.99 and no roti. I’d recommend he bump up the price and add roti.
The curry chicken and roti was better but I’m 99% sure the “roti” was pita, it certainly didn’t look like the pictures of roti they have on their site and I’ve had (and made) roti before. It had that cardboard type of texture like pita and was hard to chew. The chicken was quite greasy and although had a flavour of curry also had an overwhelming taste like chicken broth (noodlesoup with curry type of flavour) not the best I’ve tasted but the heat and spiciness was good. If you haven’t had great Caribbean food before then this is ok. But I don’t think I’ll be back soon. Sadly it may be one of the better Caribbean food trucks here…at least the food has some flavour.
In response to the owner - sorry, I was really wanting to love your food. Ever since Rani’s Roti left Halifax we haven’t had a great Caribbean restaurant here (in my opinion), at least not one that is consistent.I don’t know that I’ve tried all of course. Maybe I came at a bad time? But I’m finding it hard to believe that what I ate was roti. If you ran out and were substituting, I’d rather have been told up front. Just sharing my opinion. As you can see you have other positive reviews, I’m just sharing my own and unfortunately my experience ...
Read moreI'm not one to leave reviews, as a certified chef and someone that has cooked professionally for 19+ years, this was a horrible experience. I ordered 4 patties from the food truck today for lunch, I was starving and I got 2 for me and 2 for my wife. I ate one as soon as I got it in my car. I think they must microwave these when you order them as the dough was still on the raw side, was soggy and cold in the middle. I love Jamaican patties and these were the worst ones I've ever had, I'd rather have 7-11 patties than these. I took the other 3 home and cooked them in the air fryer for 15 mins just so my $24 wasn't wasted. Very disappointing to say the least and I'd be ashamed to sell these under the amazing food and culture of Jamaica. Do better
After response from the owner: I would rather not give any review let alone a bad one, once again as a restaurant worker I know how reviews can be lies and bad for business if it's not warranted. But also I know what microwaved food looks and tastes like haha and this is microwaved or sitting in a heat tray for a long period of time. It was soggy, like floppy soggy and very greasy. It was cold in the middle as I said. All you have to do is have a toaster oven or even a air fryer in your truck and cook them for 5-8 mins and they'd be fine. This is laziness and I've seen lazy cooks before, if you aren't there for quality control than that's on you. I've been a chef of many fine dining restaurants, pubs and cafes among hotels and fast food. Maybe heed my advice. As for this coming from a racist place is laughable at best (you don't even know what nationality I am) and my wife is filipino so I'd be a very bad racist. Just make better food and don't hide behind the racist card to be able to make bad food and people aren't allowed to say so. Not professional behavior from a restaurant. R&B kitchen is better soul...
