My friend told me about this new Tunisian sandwich place and I was looking forward to try the food. I was not disappointed đ. I tried 3 things: the baguette, the French tacos, and the FricassĂ©. Overall I liked the fact that it wasnât too salty. Obviously the TNDude is not loading it with sodium, keeping it healthy and focusing on real flavors rather than sodium to make tasty food. Below details for each thing I tasted đ
Baguette: super succulent. Tasty. I liked how the bread itself is rather thin. The baguette is stuffed then baked, so the flavors of meat and veg along with the cheese are nicely fused in. My son (9) is not into sandwiches but loved this one.
French tacos: quite filling and tasty comfort food thanks to the fries inside.
FricassĂ©: this would be the most controversial from the menu. This is inspired from the FricassĂ© you would have as street food in Tunisia but not exactly the same. The bun is crunchy on the outside, soft on inside. The TNDude puts a couple of Tunisians salads in along with tomatoes, olives, onions. Not a lot of spicy sauce (Harissa) so if you like your fricassĂ© spicy make sure you ask for extra harissa in yours. So overall it might not please your craving for the typical Tunisian fricassĂ© but I think it is a great adaptation. My husband (who didnât know the original version) loved it.
A place I would recommend if you like a full of flavour sandwich with a taste of Tunisia/North Africa.
Plus this is one of rare places that put real vegetables and plenty of flavors in the sandwiches. And the size of the sandwiches is generous. My two kids couldnât finish the baguette.
Next time I should not miss the...

First off fantastic name. Tunisian Dude, easy tells me everything I need to know. So I call and place an order and the Tunisian Dude answers the phone takes my order with the most charming, polite and engaging customer service I have ever had.
So then I pop by pick up my order and I walk in and he immediately started letting me know how he was taking care of my order and the time left to wait which was only 3 minutes. Incredibly efficient service might I add. Which I did not mind it smelled amazing in there and the decor was so cozy but also so vibrant and I could see that there was so much passion and effort put into this business and my excitement grew.
I got to the counter and we chatted I let him know this was my first time and how much folks in the local community Facebook groups sange his praises and the quality of the food.
THEN I FIND OUT HE MAKES HIS OWN DOUGH AND ALSO TRIES TO SOURCE AS MUCH LOCALLY AS HE CAN AND I WAS LIKE OKAY POP OFF TUNISIAN DUDE WE LOVE SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES WITH QUALITY AND ETHCIS!
I left excited to come back and I hadnât even tried the food yet. I get home to my wife as we were splitting the massive portion of stuffed baguette which was phenomenal value for money. AND THE FOOD SENT ME INTO ORBIT DIRECTLY INTO SPACE! That sauce needs to be on everything all the time! I feel like that sauce could fix marriages, cure diseases and even maybe do my taxes for me it was that good!
I am a huge fan I am so happy this business is in the community and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you so much Tunisian Dude youâre the gem...
Read moreWe had read some reviews in the spryfield surrounding areas fb group and we were waiting for an opportunity to hit it.
There are about 6 parking spots which is essentially seating capacity.
There was a young lady there who had been before and gave us the low down on the menu and while she was raving about the âwhite sauceâ the owner came over with some white sauce and fresh fries for us to try. It did not disappoint.
Everything is made to order; we had the stuffed baguette w beef and makloub with chicken. Absolutely incredible. Guy is run off his feet because itâs just him so be prepared to wait or call ahead. Either way well worth the wait.
Portions are massive. Halal certified (likely gets his meat from the meat market behind tareks). I would honestly eat the baguette several times a week and would recommend beef over chicken (his words but also canât imagine the chicken being better). The price for the amount of food you get is incredible in todayâs economy and also considering it is hand handmade.
We didnât get the burger but we saw one come out and WOW. It was totally enclosed in baked dough that resembled a mini tajhin. Itâs a very special presentation.
Lastly music was lit.
This is a must eat. My biggest concern is making sure I support both tareks and tndude because they both...
