I feel sorry but I have to give my honest review.. Today was the second and last time I order from here. First time, it was the first day they were open, I got butter chicken and palak paneer both were blend and seriously lacking flavor. Butter chicken did not taste anything like it should, plus it was not cooked as it should( it should be bbq first and then simmer in sauce), also the rice which is simplest thing to make, was unbelievably bad. But I wanted to give them another chance so I got chicken korma today, again tasteless. Chicken was not cleaned well, with skin and fat on it. But the worst part is the taste, I am an Indian food connoisseur, I have tried all the Restaurants around (burlington, Hamilton and Brantford) and I eat at least 2-3 times a week indian take-out, so I know how a korma should taste like and this didnât taste like it, it tastes like nothing, the spices didnât add up. I couldnât eat it so I threw it away.. so disappointed. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because of the Samosa, one of the best I had. But unfortunately they are not samosa shop and they should know how to make a butter chicken or a korma... plus it is more expensive for no reason compared to the other and better tasting Indian restaurants nearby (I donât mimd paying more if it tastes better but here tastes bad and more expensive). Also they donât have...
Read moreItâs truly disheartening to have to revise a positive review I gave earlier, but yesterdayâs experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to do so. We had visited the restaurant before and had always had great experiences, so we decided to go again with friends. However, this time, things were a complete disaster.
The starter, the crispy honey chicken, was delicious, but everything that followed was abysmal. The butter chicken and another dish we ordered were too sour, and the roti was nowhere near the quality we had experienced before. It seemed like the management and chef had changed, and their skills had declined significantly.
To make matters worse, the charges were extremely high compared to previous visits. They even charged a 15% gratuity without informing us what percentage would be charged. The food service was so poor that we didnât even deserve a penny extra for the exorbitant prices we were paying for the items.
The rice and noodles we ordered were incredibly spicy, even though we had asked for medium spice. On the other hand, the other curries we ordered were bland, even though we had asked for medium to hot. Overall, the experience was so miserable that we wouldnât recommend this restaurant to anyone under any...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to go here on the recommendation of a friend. First impression was of a quaint, pleasant decor deserving of 4 stars, not because there was anything wrong with it, but because we have to leave room for the establishments that spend a lot more on the ambiance. There was, however, nothing short of perfect service. As a small business, you immediately discover that everyone who works there is invested in it, and is passionate about it. On our first visit, we were served by the owner, who beamed with pleasure for the opportunity. The food is outstandinly authentic. It gives an immediate sense of eating well... of eating healthy, pure and free of artificial additives. One always wonders what mild, medium and hot means in each chef's style... Here, I would err on the side of caution. I like hot foods, but medium delivered the punch I was looking for. The portions are adequate to grab a shared curry with rice and roti, to satisfy a couple. We decided that meant we need to come back weekly to try each dish! #2 is in the bag, and it was perfect! I was amazed that dinner with two mango lassi drinks and a 20% tip came in under $30. I definitely recommend sampling your way through this...
