Two Cougars & A Cafe — Restaurant in Hamilton

Where do I start because there are so many great things about this gem of a place! First off cleanliness; very conscientious on keeping this place clean/sanitized including the washrooms!

Servers; every single person that works here including I believe the owner give exceptional service. Even when the place is packed they take the time to make you feel a part of their family. Coffee is refilled on a regular basis, everyone has smiles on their faces and give you the impression that it's not just a job...they enjoy it. Please be patient with the lovely server's/cooks because it can be very busy at times but trust me, it's worth the wait!

Food; Again where do I start? Portions are wow! You will not leave hungry! Favorites and must tries: any of the skillets...so good! Omelettes are excellent. Soups are very tasty. Breakfast club I think it's called was the last thing I tried and it was huge and delicious. Favorite is the eggs Benedict skillet!

Only thing I wish they would bring back as a choice of side including for the skillets is there potato hash browns/shredded.

My wife and I dropped in for breakfast this morning. It was my first time. But I’m afraid it’ll be my last. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken. I found the atmosphere very dull and gloomy. We ordered the breakfast skillet, which was a huge portion and the food was good. Overall, it was the service that bothered us. The waitress just plopped the food down and walked away, to sit down in the booth behind us with people she knew. Didn’t say anything, didn’t ask if we needed anything else. When we were just about done my wife asked to have our teapot refilled, however it was never offered. We were finishing our tea when the waitress came over and asked us to leave because they wanted the table, a line was forming, the line was four people that were together. We are paying customers, just finishing up our tea and chatting and now being asked to leave so someone else can have the table. It’s seems to me that their profit margin is more important than good customer experience and service. ‘Get ‘em in Get ‘em out. If we wanted fast food we could have opted to do that. Two things which STANDS out (besides the others I'll mention after) finally someone is doing breakfast sausages CORRECT and until you''ve had grilled peameal bacon, you have no idea how tasty they can be.

What a great spot in Hamilton to have breakfast. Clean, welcoming and very cost effective (budget friendly). From the images you can also see the portion sizes, which are brilliant IMHO.

Everything on the plates were delicious and NOT GREASY.. and came quickly. The lady who took care of our table was very friendly, honest and got answers from the kitchen for my question/s. GREAT service. Having one of the owners come over to our table to chat briefly and ask about our day and how the food/service was, excellent touch.

How could I forget the perfectly cooked eggs (to my liking) and NO up-charge for Rye bread (like some other breakfast restaurants). Diner style coffee (strong), but I won;t hold it against them...
