Coming to Harrison, skip this place.
Started this review at the 55 minute mark while waiting for our lunch. I get it, it was a Sunday at 1pm. But this was pretty rough. We ordered some easy appys but chips and pico didn’t come out till the 45 minute mark.
The server mentioned that the kitchen only had 2 chefs but the whole operation seemed disjointed. They just couldn’t execute. We were told they were out of fries. No big deal till I watched 3 plates of fries come out to other tables on the patio.
60 minutes, no food. Contemplating leaving. Hoping that the food is worth staying. Allllll at the same time.
Great. The restaurant has an iPad system to cut down on communication time and increase accuracy but where does the rest of it catch up?
65 minutes. My eldest son called it. If the food isn’t here by 2:45pm (order placed at 1:08pm) we’re out.
2:28pm. Food came out. First impression…how did this take this long???
Cheese quesadilla for a 7 year old. He picked a piece of jalapeño out of it. I couldn’t believe it.
The al pastor and the carne asada were actually really flavourful. But they didn’t need to take 60 minutes to assemble considering how small they were. The fish in the fish tacos was over cooked, super hard shell and dry on the inside.
We ordered chips with pico and a side of guacamole. Those totally could have hit the table in 10 minutes. Instead they came out late, the waitress said they were “on the house” but then charged us for them. Whatever. We just paid and left. Even with the server taking a few things off this was still a giant waste of $93.70 and almost 2 hours of our trip.
If you want to improve, learn how to execute. Get someone to clean and clear tables, seat guests, start with water and get drink orders in and out quickly.
Get appy’s onto the table quickly so guests aren’t starving waiting on entrees. Get kids meals out as soon as they’re done. If kids are eating, parents...
Read moreUnfortunately my review will not be one of favourable content. As residents of Harrison Hot Springs we were excited to dine out at one of our local restaurants. When we arrived we let our waitress know I was vegetarian and my partner was vegan. I asked if the deep fried dishes on the menu identified as VE (vegan) and (V) vegetarian were fried with meat or seafood. Our waitress said that yes, they were. This of course negates them from being vegan or vegetarian so our choices become very limited. So I ordered the bean, rice and cheese burrito. We were told they were out of beans . I said that was no problem, I would have the burrito with just the rice and cheese. My partner ordered a burrito with rice and guacamole. Our waitress returned telling us that she was told we could not order either. No substitutions allowed. I said I wasn’t asking for a substitute, the restaurant didn’t have the beans. She was very apologetic but said there was nothing she could do. Our dinner options became incredibly limited (maybe 3 choices) because they were absolutely adamant no substitutions allowed! There was no support provided to our waitress nor to our table. There was absolutely no care given to us in trying to navigate an incredibly limited menu with our dietary choices. No management came to speak with us instead they continued to send a young waitress to convey the managements unprofessional message which was clearly stating they didn’t care one bit as to whether we enjoyed our meal or cared to return. Kudos to the waitress… she was awesome! The rest of the experience was awful and not only will we not be returning. In closing, I do want to add that before writing this review I did send an email but it was never...
Read moreHonestly 3 stars is a very modest rating and I’m a very fair guy. That just because the food was great for most part someone else might even leave a 1 star. I was in Harrison yesterday and love supporting small businesses because I run one myself. We got there at 5:50 and were seated and ordered by about 6:05 because we were starving we looked at the menu before sitting down. They brought us plain nachos with salsa but the rest of our appies and mains weren’t delivered to us until 7:20! That’s 1 hour and 15 minutes we waited so patiently and get the response sorry we were too busy all of the sudden. My bill was $160 for 4 people and I still left a tip on top for $20 when I felt that wasn’t necessary. This message is for the owners, please don’t take patrons in your restaurant if you don’t have capacity to serve them. We sat in the heat for over a hour, and the food was great! Except the Mexi fries were just normal Fries and I thought how long does Mexican really take, I doubt 1.5 hours almost. I asked the staff twice and I feel like they should have comped us on something because we spent so much money there but that wasn’t the case. At least be apologetic when it’s your fault that the food cannot be delivered on time. Anyways it’s a cool place and I really hope you nothing...
