Flame O Pizza & Donair — Restaurant in Heritage Valley

I emailed them and gave them over a week to reply, and because there was no response, I am here leaving a formal review for others.

Whomever the owner of Flame O Pizza & Donair in Cartmell Pl seriously needs to hire better staff.

We ordered online and was advised that our order of 4 donairs and garlic bread would be ready in 30 minutes.

No problem.

Show up on time and was told our order hasn't even been started yet, even though there was no one else in the restaurant.

Was told it would take 10 minutes.

20 minutes pass and 2 of our 4 donairs are made....

Now I'm being told that the other 2 donairs will take another 20 minutes to make....

Again, there is no other customer here in the restaurant or other orders being worked on.

I asked to speak with a manager and the girl simply tells me they don't do that, and stares at me wondering if I want the other two donairs to be made.... I actually had to tell her to please just complete our order that was already paid for online.

Over 90 minutes to complete a simple order of 4 regular size donairs and garlic bread, with an empty restaurant.

This is what our donairs looked like.... barely any meat inside.... Costco pre-packaged donairs have more meat than these....

Walked in. Place seemed nice. There was no customers in there at the time (approx 4pm). I was like hmm, is this a red flag? Decided to proceed and order. While I waited I read some reviews on here. Sounded okay. While I waited two additional customers came into the building and got pizza to go. And I heard two phone call orders come about the same time. So even though they didn’t seem busy at first glance they had orders coming in. Fast forward, my pizza was done and the only guy working there brought the pizza to us. We decided to stay and eat and personally I wasn’t expecting much. To my surprise the pizza was quite nice. The dough/crust was nothing I have eaten before. My significant other doesn’t usually eat the pizza crust but he did this time! It was very nice. My favorite part was the amount of toppings on it and how evenly distributed they were. It wasn’t excessive or too skimpy. Just perfect in my opinion. I got the chicken pesto and was flavorful. I will return as long as they don’t change what they are doing. As for pricing I think it’s on par with what everything else costs in the restaurant industry. For 2x 10” pizza, two non-alcoholic drinks, and two dips it was $31. My only suggestion is that the bathrooms could use a better cleaning. Itwas kinda messy but nothing that...

We decided to give this place a try. We’ve been watching the restaurant move in to shoppes of Chappelle for some time now. We were not disappointed. The service was friendly. They have two types of crust. Pan & New York. Both tasty with a nice crisp. We ordered The Fajita & The Bego. Very delicious. Cheesy. Also ordered the honey garlic wings. I definitely recommend these. Best honey garlic sauce for wings I’ve ever had. Wings were fall of the bone tender. Impressive. 2 thumbs up. Update: We paid this location a visit and ordered wings, and donair poutine. My wings were perfect. Her poutine was delicious when it finally arrived. I had already finished my meal when she got hers. The person handling the orders was quite overwhelmed. He was having to cook. Take orders from customers. Deal with the delivery drivers. Take phone call complaints while trying to juggle everything else. He was on the phone handling a customer complaint when he burnt the donair meat for the poutine. I felt sorry for him. Not his fault at all. This message is for the owners. You need to find this guy some help. Someone to handle customers and calls. The longer the night went on. The deeper in the weeds he became. You guys need to get someone to help your cook. He can’t do it...
