Update: My visits were 6 years ago under previous management. I haven’t been back since, so please don’t judge the current service based on my old experience. I appreciate the new owner’s professional response.
Shout out to Indian Chef executive take-out for the worst food quality as well as customer service I’ve ever seen. Last time I had ordered take out from the new opening restaurant, Indian chef, I had bought a box of samosas. And On my third bite, I felt a very strong pain in my teeth. When I spit it out, I realized that there was a fairly large sized piece of metal in my samosa. I Immediately called the restaurant to discuss what I had come across. They said that the metal piece was from one of their machines that had been missing a metal piece and that they would come pick it up. The manger then came to pick up the piece and said that the owner was in the US and would come discuss with us the problem as soon as he arrives back to Edmonton. All they cared about was getting their piece back because it was missing from their potato grinding machine.
I waited for almost four month to hear from the owner, but heard nothing back. I waited hoping that someone would call, thinking that it was honest mistake and that they would try and fix it. And my patience has been met by them completely ignoring the incident . Until today, I still visit the dentist twice a week, and the last thing I needed was a metal piece in my food. I am glad that the piece of metal did not end up in my two year old sons Samosa, because if it did, it would have been a disaster.
I called the manger approximately four days ago, asking why I had never heard back from the owner nor the manger, she said that she never called because she was busy. I felt that this problem was dealt with in a very unprofessional and an uncaring manner.
She gave me an appointment today between 5:30-6pm and never showed up.
My Facebook account had been deactivated for months and I had no intention to post this, but the lack of care they showed in dealing with this problem had really made me feel that they do not value their costumers. I am merely posting this to spread awareness and to insure no one else has to deal with this again.
This is the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered and I hope no one experiences the same...
Read moreI would rate my experience half a star today, however due to the inability to rate half a star, I am giving this review a 1 star. I am a regular customer that frequents Indian Chef with my family quite often. However, I have today's experience was my last straw and has completely turned me off from ordering there again. For starters, I would like to state that this is now the 3rd time where I've had to wait over 55 minutes for an order that was quoted to be ready in 30 minutes. My husband and I called Indian Chef for a pick up order upon which we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. As we waited for our order we figured it would be best to grab our groceries as the order was yet to be ready. 30 minutes later and our groceries left in our vehicle, our order still wasn't ready. We were told it would be an addition 5-7 minutes so we went back out to our vehicle to wait. 7 minutes later, our order STILL wasn't ready. We watched over 10 people that came in after us, order their meal and left promptly soon after. My husband and I not only had our groceries spoil in the vehicle but we waited 55 minutes for 4 appetizers & 2 naans. When I expressed my concern as to how disappointed I was, the girl at the front just apologized and proceeded to process our payment, not once were we offered any compensation for our time that we lost. Now I am not one to ask for discounts or compensation for wasted time but I am extremely disappointed with how our order was handled. I will not be returning to Indian Chef again as I believe that if you quote someone time of 30 minutes and continue to process additional customers after the customer has expressed concerns, that is unacceptable customer service. If you have over an 50 minutes to waste, this is the ideal place to...
Read moreAs a frequent customer of Indian cuisine, I had high hopes when visiting Indian Chef & Restaurant. However, my repeated purchases have left me consistently disappointed.
Firstly, the sweets offered by the restaurant are disappointingly dry, lacking the freshness and moisture that are essential for a satisfying Indian sweets experience. Additionally, the samosas tasted stale, as if they had been sitting around for 1-3 days, far from the standard of freshness one would expect from a reputable Indian restaurant.
What's more concerning is the apparent lack of attention to detail and care in packaging of sweets box after asking multiple times. It's disheartening to see the sweets box haphazardly packed, especially when considering presenting it as a gift to someone special. The first impression, marred by careless packaging, reflects poorly on the overall experience and leaves a lasting negative impression.
Overall, my experiences at Indian Chef & Restaurant have been consistently underwhelming. The absence of fresh, quality food and the disregard for presentation and packaging make it difficult to recommend this...
