I rarely leave reviews anywhere, but since I've had the pleasure of staying overnight here and dining in on many occasions over the years, I figured I was well overdue to leave one here. In short, if you are passing through Ingonish, this is a must stop, and if you are planning a trip up to Cape Breton, it's a dreamy place and property to enjoy for a few nights while exploring the national park and surrounding areas.
The Periwinkle Cafe has a wide variety of options for meals made with local ingredients, as well as fresh baked goods, and plenty of non-alc and local alc options. If you're not feeling peckish, it's worth dropping in to check out the shop and array of locally made jewelry. My wife and I had the privilege making our wedding bands at a wedding band workshop here, and also holding our wedding reception here in 2022, and I could go on and on about how these folks go above and beyond with every detail. If ever you had a concern, trust that they’d be happy to listen and understand.

We had 130 guests, two fully catered feasts, 2 Yurts (Mongolian tents), a full bar (one at night and one at brunch) and 3 nights booked in the Inn. In short it was a lot of work. However the amazing staff at The Periwinkle made it all look easy.
Our guests had the time of there lives. They raved about the food, the service and the unparalleled setting. For those of you unfamiliar with the Cabot Trail, the Periwinkle is in the middle of paradise, close to sandy beaches and great hiking trails. It's a ideal destination wedding location.

It is an absolutely beautiful spot with fantastic food and a cozy atmosphere. The decor is fresh and charming, very cheerful and comfortable.
We arrived on an evening the store and cafe were closed and decided to drive nearby to pick up dinner at the local take our seafood shack, and stroll near the wharf at sunset
If you visit, make sure to chat with the owners, Caitlin and Sarabeth. They are lovely and inspiring with many tips on exploring the area, food recommendations at their friends places.
Caitlin is an accomplished jewellery designer and has a sweet studio in the back of the shop, she's curated a lovely boutique experience of East Coast art, decor, jewelry and clothing.
