I came with a friend for brunch, it was our first time dining here. When I made the reservations online, I chose the patio (it was actually the only available option). When I gave the host my name, he proceeded to look for an indoor table. I told him I had reserved a table on the patio, to which he said 'yes, you did' and brought us to the patio. Our server came around, offered us water and later took our drink order. We then placed our food order....I had the Marshmallow Belgian Waffle and my friend had the Lake Club breakfast. The waffle was served with bruleed marshmallows, fig jam, crumbled pistachio, strawberries, chocolate sauce and Chantilly cream (which is basically whipped cream). I asked for the toppings to be served on the side, so each topping was in it's own small metal cup. The strawberry was sliced, and amounted to maybe 2 strawberries and there were 2 marshmallows! The crumbled pistachio was a mixture of pistachio dust and some small pieces of pistachio. The amount of toppings provided was much smaller than I expected. The waffle itself was a bit on the crusty side, would have been better if it wasn't so tough to cut. When I make Belgian waffles at home, I don't need a steak knife to cut through them. My friend's breakfast was served with bacon that was not cooked well so he sent the bacon back. After a while, someone came around to ask how things were and we mentioned that the bacon was sent back. They just kind of said 'ok' and walked away. My friend finished his meal (still no sign of the bacon), when our server returned. I informed her that the bacon was still missing. She finally went to check on it. While the location, decor, etc. was nice, it doesn't make up for the service and to some extent, the food.
*Edit: I was contacted by a manager and invited back. Had lunch there today (Friday). Caesar salad was great, my friend enjoyed the chicken sandwich. The calamari was average. The server was very attentive. Oh, and the pistachio tiramisu was delicious, and...
Read moreGreat guest recovery. There was a mixup with our reservation about our preferred table. We chose The Lake Club for their live entertainment and wished to be seated close to it when I made the reservation. The table reserved was on the patio. I was a bit disappointed since the music cannot be heard outside. After some back and forth we chose to take the patio table. The manager was kind enough to comp our first round of drinks. After our appetizer course a table became available and we were moved inside. We were happy.
Atmosphere:
If you are on the patio, your view is the club swimming pool. You won't be able to hear the live entertainment on the patio which is a shame. Inside is very airy and beautiful, nice lake views. The artist covered Elton John, Billy Joel, and Phil Collins classics.
Food:
Butter Chicken was excellent, I requested more raita. You're served with 1/2 oz. The Wedge's dressing had a nice twist: Poppy seed and caramelized onion. It also had edamame, roasted corn, and whipped goat cheese. The Roasted Salmon dish was cooked perfectly and was a perfect portion. The Fish and Chips was alright. The batter was a touch soggy halfway through. The Chef's Cheesecake was wonderful. Shishito Peppers were bland. Though finished with Parmesan cheese, it needs something else.
Service:
Kaitlyn was very attentive and pleasant. I was surprised to see her working the far end of the restaurant, the patio, and the pool deck. She had additional support, and we were able to get what we needed when we needed it. The managers really made sure that we were satisfied and made us feel that they appreciated us...
Read moreFor such a “high end” restaurant, you would expect more out of the service. 10 servers and managers working, 5 tables, everyone on the phones lol Wasn’t given the weekend special menu (from the manager), but knew about it, so asked for it. Ordered the oysters, filled with lots of shell bits and dirt. Mentioned to the server, I don’t think she knew what that even meant. Lol just looked at us confused. The sauces were excellent though.
You would think it would be mandatory for staff to ask if you would like fresh pepper with your meal…. Instead they bring you mini grinders and have to do it yourself. Lol
No water refills, other staff member drops off the drinks, but we drink the wrong ones, because they told us which one was which….
Great patio, would be a go to spot, if they had better protocols and management that paid any attention to what was going on. You have a football team working, get them to work!
Server would prefer to grab their cell phone out of the charger at front desk instead of bringing requested item to the table… which took several minutes after asking, because they were too worried about their phone. Possibly uber forgetful as well. …..Maybe not have windows so everyone can see what’s going on lol
Meat and cheese board…., your paying for the art of the dish…..it was very beautiful looking….. Definatly not quantity…. 2 small pieces of cheese the size of quarters…. White bread toasted and cut into strips Lmaoo 8 small slices of deli meat…..and honey and jam spread...
