I visited O’Brien’s Bar and Grill yesterday and had a mixed experience. I started with the shrimp gratin, which was flavorful and well-seasoned, though the shrimp were slightly overcooked. Still, it was an enjoyable appetizer.

Unfortunately, the Boreal burger was very disappointing. The patty was extremely dry and lacked fat or juiciness, the buns were dry and unbuttered, and there was no sauce at all, making it difficult to enjoy. The “candied bacon” seemed like regular overcooked bacon. Very dry and no sweet that I could detect. I had to ask for mayo, which was promptly provided and helped a little, but overall the burger was a 4/10 at best. I even added some of my Caesar salad to give it moisture and greens.

On the plus side, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled a large table with efficiency and a great attitude. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the food quality left much to be desired. I also felt uncomfortably bloated after the meal, which seems to be a common issue others have reported after dining here—possibly due to the oil or fryer.

Overall, great service and atmosphere, but the food was dry, poorly executed, and left me feeling...

After this last two visits that were terrible I don't plan on going back. After trying to work with the manager Kelly and asking for the owner to contact me and she didn't! First day I get yelled and screamed at by a customer, and I had to leave with a migraine and the employees never did a thing! Second time I go back the waitress messed up on my order, charged my daughters kid meal as an adult and complained that a 15% tip wasn't enough. Over charged me and charges are never consistent. Never did I treat my customers the way I was treated in my Restaurant and Bar. To the fact that the manger can not call me back and the manager said she would look into it and I never heard back from her is not acceptable! I have my bill and the kids menu to prove I was over charged!! Never even got an apology for the way the customer treated me in their restaurant and the cops told me it was their job to call them not me to report the harassment I received from the customer. Totally disappointment in this...

...nice little diversion from the typical big box corporate roadhouse. Roadhouse fare but from a local restaurateur, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly I should say) the menu had a great variety of options and flavours that added to my excitement and comfort sitting down at a new restaurant

The staff was courteous and efficient. A delight serving up some northern hospitality along with a wonderful roadhouse dining experience.

The dining room was large and spacious like the Tardis this place was “bigger on the inside”. The washrooms were again spacious and above all else incredibly clean. Patio was large and spacious as well though it was a little drizzly out so we enjoyed a booth inside.

As far as roadhouses and casual/pub style dining in the north I can faithfully and comfortably give this restaurant a full array of five stars. My only knock was the selection of craft brews but this is me and a faze that I am dealing with, they did support local and had Full...

If this was only based on quality of service this would be a 5 star review for certain from the word go I couldn’t be happier with the service. The menu has lots of choices all looked appealing. Ordered the loaded garlic bread and it was very tasty and soft. Excellent. We had asked for jalapeños instead of bacon. Unfortunately they missed that. But our server brought us some green onions to spread on top. Good effort on her part. My main was the rib-eye steak. The “chips” were excellent. The steak was the major disappointment. It was supposed to be “wood cooked” and I didn’t get any of that flavourful. I asked for medium rare but it was definitely well done finally the meat was very under seasoned. My colleague got a Greek wrap and he said it was ok. Like I said, very nice people but maybe try something other than the rib-eye.

Really enjoyed eating here! The atmosphere is cozy with dark painted wood and natural stone walls, unique signs and decor. There's a reason why they are famous for their ribs! I tried the honey garlic (ALL YOU CAN EAT on Wednesdays!) - deliciously smokey and sweet flavour. The fries have a satisfying crunch. The steak was cooked perfect to my husband's liking (medium rare). The chips were a bit oily but not bad. Yummy and spicy Casaers too.

Oh well... Came highly recommended... Richard's half pint, sold as a pint - tsp lines are dirty, beer tasted metallic, head collapsed instantly into large bubbles and the smell... Of course they say they've been serving it all day, but nobody drank a full glass of that crap and didn't get sick... Philly cheese steak... crap that comes in a bucket from Sysco... I remember this taste from tree planting... Oh well...
