Packing House Pub — Restaurant in Kelowna

I just learned the same owners also own other pubs around the Okanagan.

I feel bad for being maybe a little harsh. Now I feel bad. I want the owners to know as much as I snivel about how things were better in the old days, and I wish this and that. I actually do enjoy their pubs.

They have done an outstanding job with the Packing House. Look at the ceiling in the Packing house for starters. I'm not kidding. I can't imagine the money invested in the ceiling alone. The rest of the interior upgrades are just as fantastic. There are so many examples to cover. My wife and I enjoy bantering with the staff. They take the time to idle chat and drop a few jokes. The food is always good and the drink prices are old school. Times are tough on us blue-collar pubin folks. A dollar doesn't go as far as it did in the old days. But we still need to hit the local pub for something to eat and a beer(s)

I took a friend there for lunch sat two tables across from the bar. The waitress walked by us at least a dozen times didn't ask us once if we wanted a menu or drink. The bartender came out from behind the bar and asked and served a customer one table away and ignored us. There was another lady not sure if she was a server or owner walked by us over a dozen times without asking what we wanted. This was over a 20min period if not longer. The both of us had been a customer in there for many years prior and hadn't been there in a while. The waitresses and bar tenders were always tripping over each other to serve you,but not this time. There was maybe 20 customers in there at that time so there was no reason for the ignorance of the staff. We got up and left. We will never go there again and we have told all friends what happened that we use to patronize...

Tried to go in for a beer this last Wed like I had done a few days earlier, well after the mask mandate took effect though. I'm exempt from wearing a mask and had no problem entering the first time, didn't have to show anything. Second time, on wed, I was asked to provide my doctor's note to a manager, which I did. He even tried to grab my phone which had the picture on it, which I thought was weird. Anyways I show him and then he asks for ID with it! I was so annoyed as I was already having a horrible day, so I just said forget it, I'll go somewhere else. Zero problem entering at the next place I went, and I didn't have to show my doctors note. I won't be back and I used to go here a few times a month. This is flat out discrimination in my opinion. If you're that scared you should be the one staying...
