There were challenges. It took 1hr and 15 min to receive our meal. We were greeted upon arrival by the server who was very pleasant. We received our drinks at the start, but during the 1hr and 15 min wait for our meal, our server did not return to ask whether we wanted any further drinks, or to explain the delay, or to offer any bread or biscuits or anything else. The owner, who was not keeping an eye on the storm or helping the server (who worked as quickly as she could) stood at the adjacent table and chatted with the patrons there for over 30 min. I understand they were personal acquaintances of hers and we were new patrons, but to never speak to us while hovering for so long at the adjacent table was poorly done. It was uncomfortable for us to have her looming for so long while still ignoring us. When the food was served, the braised short ribs were mediocre, not fall-off-the-bone as they should. The beet salad was made with warm beets which then wilted the greens and melted the cheese. They missed one of our two meals and only provided one. After the length of wait, there was no point waiting again while they corrected their mistake. We simply had one meal and salad between two people. They provided one drink free of charge as compensation, which was appreciated and appropriate, though I would have offered the beet salad gratis since it was more expensive than the drink. The owner did not come over to apologize, only our server. When offered the POS machine, I chose not to tip the standard 18% and instead intended to tip $10. Accidentally, I tipped $0.10 and rushed out. In the process, I left my phone behind. When I returned to pick it up, there was a dime with it, which I did not understand. But as I drove home and realized what had happened, I called back to leave an appropriate tip. The server would not accept it even though I explained that I had intended an appropriate tip. I will call again tomorrow to try to...
Read moreWent for dinner with friends and chose 901 because none of us had been and we all heard rave reviews. The server seemed friendly but rushed although the restaurant was not busy at all. Waited for almost an hour for food which would be understandable if it was busy, it was not. The salmon with dill sauce was over cooked and the sauce was basically butter and dry dill. Pizza came with plastic baked into the crust and the server didn’t seem to care. When the bill came they split the appetizer which we did not ask them to do and she thought it was funny. When the time came to pay they had trouble with the machine and I had already decided I was not tipping much because I was not happy with my food or the wait staff. The waitress saw the tip amount and scoffed and cleared the screen she was lucky I gave anything after that. My tip to them is not to judge people and not to treat the people they know any different than people they don’t that walk into their restaurant. We all had high expectations of this restaurant only to be extremely disappointed. I would not recommend and...
Read moreThe service was painfully slow despite the servers working visibly hard. The lack of a dedicated bartender meant the 1 server up front had to run a packed room as well as make drinks, including many handmade cocktails. This created a huge slowdown even though the poor girl was working her tail off. As a result, we weren't able to get any drink refills through service, a shame because our table would have easily spent over $100 in alcohol if given the chance. Hoping the owner sees this because they're missing out on significant income with drinks that would more than offset the wages of a bartender. Food was great even though it was a little cold from slow service. Only giving this 5 stars to support a small business and because the town needs restaurants like this. It's just a small detail away from...
