Timber Garden Chinese food — Restaurant in Kenora

Hot, fresh, huge portions and delicious Chinese food!

Some background: I am a 2nd generation Chinese Canadian, my parents owned and worked in their share of Chinese restaurants. I myself spend most my childhood being brought up in a Chinese restaurant in a small Albertan town.

So...when I say this is amazing Chinese food, I mean it! This is good food, not just for Kenora, but good food in general!

Simple formula here that not enough places do well - delicious, fresh, simple food in huge portion sizes at a great price.

100% would recommend to grab food here! We also stayed at the Timberland Inn owned by the same family - great...

Not a real Chinese resto… Staff don’t even know how to speak Chinese language. (Or they refuse to?) Although it’s not a mandatory for “Chinese” restaurant, this is my first time to encounter one that doesn’t speak any at all, which gives an uncomfortable feeling that they are sharing the fame of Chinese cuisine without making real Chinese food. The food here is really flavourful and delicious. Probably the best of the 4 Chinese restaurants in Kenora. I ordered pickup and had to wait for 10 minutes after I was told to arrive, but the restaurant made the wait worth it. This is the only reason I haven't given 5/5 stars.
