This is a popular spot for cyclists, I hadn’t been in a while but stopped for coffee and a snack.
My chocolate chip cookie was outstanding. Not too sweet, with dark chocolate chips. My cycling mate had the peach pie which tasted like the fresh peaches just fell into the crust. Truly delicious.
My only complaint with Grackle Coffee is well, with the coffee. I had an espresso, my friend had a milked based espresso drink. The espresso was awful and undrinkable. Not even 1 star. I’m not sure if it’s the beans, the machine, the barista or some combination. Grackle, either doesn’t know what espresso should taste like or no one there bothers to check what’s coming out of the portafilter. I had a sip of my friend’s latte and while the milk did a good job of hiding the inadequacies of the shot, it was tasteless.
Go for the desserts, skip the caffeine.
Follow up visit: The peach pie was still fabulous (sadly, no dark chocolate cookies were available). While I didn’t order an espresso, my cycling partner had an iced latte which I tasted and to my pleasant surprise it was rich, smooth and delicious. I could definitely taste the espresso and the milk wasn’t overpowering it. Well done Grackles!
Follow up visit June 2025 (10 months later): Sadly the coffee was undrinkable. Both my iced espresso and a friend’s drink (not sure what it was). I won’t get into detail of what it tasted like, but Grackle’s needs to either remove “Coffee” from their name or they need to find a new coffee/machine provider… or perhaps it’s a training issue? Admittedly I’m a fussy espresso drinker, but anyone with taste buds should be appalled at the quality. From my last shot 10 months before, I thought they had figured it out. I won’t be buying another coffee drink from Grackle’s. Done. The baked goods are still awesome as is the...
Read moreWhile driving through an area we'd never been before to avoid hwy traffic, we realized we were in urgent need of a caffeine boost & decided to look for a place using Google maps. Using the "coffee near me" button this cafe popped up and although it was a 10 min detour we decided to give it a try. It was a quirky little place with wonderful tasty cookies with unusual combinations that were made with wholesome ingredients. The staff was friendly and patient explaining all their options to us. They made a latte for me & my hubby is a dark roast plain coffee fan. We had the peanut butter & seeds cookies and the dark & white chocolate with strawberries ones. We wanted to get the pistachio, cherry ones next but they were sold out when the line up cleared and I went back up to the counter. Also we thought the decor was delightful to look at. Oh and their take out cups are compostable. Big...
Read moreCute and charming coffee shop offers coffee and tea lattes, sandwiches, soups and pastries. We were greeted with kindness and positive energy. We felt welcomed !
It was busy, and a steady stream of people coming in. Was nice to see a lot of regulars come in. There are several tables for groups of 4.
Since it's pumpkin season, we took advantage of the pumpkin spice shot. Its a homemade blend of pumpkin puree, and spices. We got a pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin chai latte. They were both tasty, although way too hot and liquidy... We couldn't drink it right away and a thicker consistency would have been nice (more froth).
Next time we go, will have to try an espresso (to actually try their coffee) and their soups and sandwiches!...
