Hogans is a great cozy restaurant if you want to get away from the city life. I find that it's perfect for special days, and even family dinners as the area where it's situated in isn't too busy, plus there's a lot of greens around. Hogan's have a rooftop patio and another patio downstairs; we chose the rooftop patio as it was a beautiful day. They have a regular menu with a selection of items to choose from, and they also have their specials menu too. Service was awesome as Anna (our server) was very kind and accommodating to us. She was very happy which really boosted my mood. She also did inform us about the wagyu steak being a bit tough, and she also was able to recommend us drinks to start off. I could really feel her energy and honesty when was talking to us. We ordered quite a lot of good, and despite asking for everything to come out at once, the food didn't take too long to arrive (roughly 15-20mins). - The Escargot ($10) was very plump and soft, and the buttered toast that came with it definitely complimented everything together. - The sangrias were both very refreshing, and I was surprised how fruity and pretty they looked (in comparison to a lot of others I've tried). The glass was so full! - The Wagyu steak ($65) was juicy but as Anna warned us, it was a bit tough. - The Tuna Tatar ($21) was very refreshing with a mix of avocado, mango and tuna. They went well with the little pieces of bread that came with it too! - Grilled Atlantic Salmon ($30) was grilled to perfection as the top was slightly crunchy to my liking and I loved how juicy and sweet each bite was! Portion overall was good for the price you paid, plus I love the plate aesthetics too! I had a great evening here and will definitely come back on the future! IG: @Ayenomz

We heard a lot about this unique and historic dining establishment, offering delicious European and Canadian Cuisine food in a charming, cozy Authentic antique brick historic building in the country town of King City (King Rd and Keele) just north of Vaughan. The entire building is decorated wonderfully inside and out in the old-world Christmas tradition. Our hostess and waiter were both amazing and helpful. We were greeted warmly, (as we found out later), by the new owner and were seated immediately. With one of the most extensive wine cellars in Ontario, we had our chosen vintages in hand, within a few minutes. We started with Grilled Calamari in tasty kalamata olives, sundried tomato & caper vinaigrette, with cherry tomatoes ($19), plus the Steamed Mussels, delectable white wine tomato cream sauce for ($14), & complementary garlic bread. With two large crackling fire places near by, the food was hearty, delicious and was very fitting for such a cold winters day. For our main course, we went with the Chilean Sea Bass ($44) creamy gnocchi, butternut squash, peas, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms. The dish was light but very flavorful and it came with plenty of seafood! Everything was so yummy! I wish we had room for dessert, but we were so stuffed by the end of the meal! As well, the restrooms were very tidy and clean, just like home. I would highly recommend and come back if we're ever in the King Township again!

Need to express how exceptional the staff were at the Hunt Club. I organized a surprise Birthday party on March 10 2023. I was met with absolute professionalism and smiles. I will mention the two names I remember , Kiki & Megan , however; there was a young server also (blonde girl, cute as a button, with a complete attention to detail, her name escapes me) . Whomever the owners are should pay much attention to this crew. They made our experience of 12 or so friends together absolutely perfect. It's not exactly rare to have good service in any establishment, that being said this trio were better then good. They literally served that entire fully packed bar with a very quick order taking and delivery rate so efficiently. Also noted was their memory skill set to never mess up an order , even amongst the chaos of thirsty patrons. Never missing a beat. But here's the topper...it's one thing to be focused and get all product out in a timely fashion, but it's a whole different level to deliver with such positive attitudes and smiles. It was easy to see that they all rose to the occasion but also genuinely fed off of the excitement of the crowd with their smiles and gratitude as well. It was almost like watching a ballet as they delivered orders through the chaotic , always moving crowd , efficiently & precisely to the people on the floor and or the tables they served. They made every single person feel not only welcomed but as if we belonged in their house party, leaving an impression that we definitely want to come back again.

This may seem like an over expressed review, but the fact is. Because of this little crew, they help my birthday girl and all of our friends have one of the best evenings to be remembered. This is not just myself speaking but everyone felt the same .

I should mention Anna for taking up our reservations also...thank you.

BTW....the band that played that night (I think Rambling Soul?) Was one of the best . They had the entire dance floor packed. No song was a dud. Literally the entire party kept dancing. They should be brought back. Wow, were they good!

Absolutely a perfect event. And I've done a few. So simple , yet effective!.

Thank you guys . You have one heck of a staff .....memories were...

I attended a 40th birthday party on the patio and bar area just last night. Great appetizers and nice space however the bar service was really below average. I'm typically easy to please and order draft beer. The Stella was flat and the bartender didn't have a solution to that problem. I guess checking the CO2 or changing the keg was just too challenging. So I chose another craft draft beer, King Pilsner and that was flat too. Then the bartender suggested I try the Amber and gave me a taster....brutal...it tasted like vinegar. He went to take a sample himself and the keg was empty. He shrugged his shoulders and suggested a can beer. Finally I had a Creemore IPA and was satisfied. It took a lot to get there and couldn't help feel like the service was just lousy. I persevered and later I went back for a second IPA. The bartender opened it as per service and 20% of it overflowed onto the bar. He quickly wiped it up and didn't even acknowledge that it happened and served it to me that way. I shook my head in disbelief and paid for the can however I should've spoken up and asked for something else. Its really amazing to me how poor that service was and how that was just okay. BTW, it was $8.93 per tall boy can and I didn't even get a full beer. Brutal. Nonetheless, given all the current challenges with getting a quality beer I couldn't be bothered to say something to an oblivious bartender. Furthermore as I drank my beer I noticed that the can was quite sticky half way down. Odd experience until I looked at the bottom of the can and noticed the aluminum rusting! I'm shocked that before the bartender served this he himself didn't even realize it! It actually confounded me enough to mention it to at least two other people and write this. My recommendation is stay away from their draft beer and check your can for corrosion. That'll ensure you have a better experience than I did. Not planning on returning anytime soon either. Good luck if you give...

It's unfortunate that I have never been to Hogans. I have inquired about having a function at the restaurant for 50 people for September to host my wedding reception. However, as I was ready to proceed and look at the venue, Anna becomes unreliable and unresponsive to emails and communication. First she indicated that she works 11am - 11pm everyday with the exception on Tuesdays. She emailed me on a Tuesday. Then I emailed the next day asking if my fiance and I can come to visit the restaurant and discuss further as in her previous email she suggested we come in. No answer. The following days, I have emailed again and no answer. I called on Saturday early afternoon to come in for the Sunday, she was not in until 4:30 pm according to the gentleman. I had called that evening again to ask for her, and the girl who had answered the phone had ZERO etiquette, sounded like she was in high school or uneducated. I asked to speak with Anna, she mentioned she is busy and had asked what is it about and I quickly briefed her that we have been communicating to see the VENUE, the girl says I can look online for it..... WHAT? I mentioned, again it was to see the place, again she says I can see it ONLINE? Did not ask for my number to have her call me back

Anyway, I said, okay I'll call back. I called back, no answer and emailed her again and again no email response.

My fiance and my time are very limited so waiting for her to communicate provides anxiety. He's a chef and I am in healthcare and our hours are very long and limited and we don't have much time to open up.

I am NOT moving forward with the inquiry and will definitely take my business elsewhere. I am not sure I want to be coordinating with someone who does not know how to communicate or coordinate especially about a wedding as this will not put me at ease for our day. I don't think anyone looking to host an event would be at ease if they had to go through that anxiety to wait...
