LOCALE King City Restaurant/Bar — Restaurant in King

Me and my partner was craving for some Italian cuisine and Locale was rate to be one of the best Italian cuisine in town so we decided to drop by and have dinner. The Place was not that hard to find as we are living few blocks away but we are just new in the place. As we entered the Restaurant it was a typical dinner rush and knowing that we just walk in we are aware that we might not have a table to dine but luckily we had our table for 2 around the Table Bario 2 which the receptionist Ms. Erika cleared for us. The menu was hand over to us and give us ample time to see what interest us. Our Waitress Ms. Chelsea was very accommodating and pleasant to converse with, We decide to order Frittura, Cipolla,Pacherri and Spaghetti Scoglio. As we expected the food was phenomenal, We enjoy our meal so much the texture of the calamari was so tender and well battered as well as the shrimp it matches the taste of our pizza which had some savory taste on it, Our starter was already a heavy blow but we still left some space for our mains which is 2 sets of Pasta which is again it serves our Palate so bad leaving our mouth and stomach grow more founder. We would like to order some dessert but it was just a few selection to choose from so we decided to let go it for now.. We ended our dinner with a full stomach that matches our expectations. But there are just some few things that I noticed as a first time diner, first was the locking of warm hospitality attitude from some server or Waitress. The moment that we enter the establishment there was a few staff over the bar who was standing but non of them bothered to greet and ask if they can assist us or not knowing that the post of the receptionist is empty as well as there some staff around the stairs who clearly saw us but same doesn't bothered to greet not ask for assistance. We walk in on a very casual attire simply because we just want to satisfy our cravings. Another one was when our mains was serve the staff Ms. Sofia doesn't even bothered to ask which order is which she just basically placed the food on the table and leave not even ask if we still need anything else. We frequent the Aurora location which is always wonderful but we wanted to dine at the King location as it was where we had our first date. I booked a table a week in advance for our first wedding anniversary- and I had requested a table in a nice spot, given the occasion. We were going to arrive 10-15 mins late due to the snow storm so I had called ahead to let them know. When we arrived we were seated in the worst possible spot in the entire restaurant. We were seated at a tiny table upstairs which was attached to the staircase to go downstairs- all we could feel was the cold draft and hearing people walking up and down the stairs constantly. We were also in between two large tables- so it all seemed chaotic, so you can imagine there was ZERO ambiance. There were 3-4 empty booths behind us so it’s not like every table was taken. In any case, although I hated where we were seated we tried to make the most of it. Our server asked to take our drink orders- waited 15 mins for a drink and when he arrived with our drinks he just placed the glass and beer on the table and walked away. At the other Locale location the service is always amazing and they pour your beer in your glass for you- as do most nice restaurants. Once it was time to place our food order, we wanted to start with the appetizers first before deciding on our mains- the server said “I guess I’ll come back I’m not going to put in your starters until you know what mains you want”. That was the last straw for us- what kind of service is this?! After he came back -10 mins later we told him that we are just going to finish our drinks and leave. When the bill came, another staff member came and handed us a glass of Prosecco and says “we know it’s your anniversary- happy anniversary “. If they knew it was a special occasion you would think they would attempt to provide great service and a decent table! Went to Locale King City for the first time last night, we HAD reservations for 7:45pm. We got there at just before 7:30, I will come back to this. Firstly the atmosphere is very nice, Food was very good, not exceptional but I would have gone back as what we ordered was tasty. Drinks were excellent. Prices were a little high, however not too high that would make me say, never again. Why Locale would NOT be my first choice to return to. The service was HORRIBLE from the host to the waiter, other than the bartender who was pleasant. First the host, as mentioned, we arrived at just before 7:30pm for a 7:45 reservation, we saw NUMEROUS OPEN tables, both inside the restaurant and on the patio. We were told that our reservations were for 7:45 and we would have to wait, sat at the bar, table all around us empty, after about 15 minutes the waiter came back to us and said we would have to wait 10-11 minutes for a table on the patio or he could seat us now inside, again note that there were at the very least 10 tables that we saw inside that were available when we got there, we opted to sit inside and he sat us at a table directly behind the bar, which had been empty for whole time. We looked on the patio just as we sat down and there were many empty tables, just out of curiosity we checked again as we finished up and same tables (with exception of a couple) were still empty!! I have never ever had this experience at a restaurant, EVER I would love to understand the reasoning behind it....we could not think of one. In regards to our waiter, he was not helpful, not friendly, not engaging at all. We felt rushed, we felt that we were bothering him, had to ask someone else to get him TWICE, once for some water and once for the bill.
