I frequent here for wing night and on other occasions like family get together and parties. Have easily spent thousands at this establishment. Super disappointed. I attended with my two children. We waited for 25 min before being asked what we wanted to order to drink or eat. There were only 2 other tables (group of 2 and group of 5) and 4 people at the bar at the time. There were 2 servers. Eventually the one did apologize for the slow service after we received our food. The menu, Social media and in store signs advertise Wednesday as wing night. I ordered a pound for myself and a pound for my son. Their wing night is buy a pound get a half pound free with it after 4pm on Wednesdays. After we received our food I questioned the waitress as to why there was so little wings in the basket snd she stated we ordered 2 lbs of wings. I said yeah and we should be receiving 1 and a half pounds each. We went over this for quite some time and I asked for thr rest of our wings but eventually she just said she would charge our 2 pounds as the buy one get a half free instead of giving us our other half pound each. She also stated you have to specify you want your free half a pound when ordering which i can tell you is not true with the dozens of other times I've attended on wednesdays. It defaults on the menu. After we finished she brought us the bill but handed me the machine first (this is where I made a mistake and paid before checking the receipt, and I feel like it was intentional) I paid and then she gave us the receipts. Overall just poor service. Food was fine. I didn't stay to argue because by the time I left the establishment we were already almost at 1.5hours there. I just warn future patrons to check their receipts and be prepared for inconsistency at...
Read moreThe fed catered the Alamos work party, it was a prime rib and stuffed chicken dinner with various sides. My chicken was raw ( I did get another piece but it was suspicious especially knowing since it’s catered it is all cooked together in large batches), and when I asked what it was stuffed with, they told me it was just Lemmon rosemary chicken. Upon arriving to the table it was stuffed with something beige but that was the least of the problems with that. The prime rib was, I would say blue rare which is definitely not for everyone especially for 200+ people. When I got to the vegtables portion I got like two pieces of carrots and a Brussels sprout. I asked for a bit more vegtables, he looked at me picked up two more carrots with the spoon and put it on my plate. The sides were all freezing cold, especially the mashed potatoes, but at least the gravy was good.
For dessert was an array of cheese cakes and cakes. I took a cake similar looking cake to their sticky toffee pudding cake they serve in the restaurant. It was apparent after smelling it, it was a gingerbread cake perhaps. After taking a bite, it was sweet until the spice hit me. Lord have mercy on my soul, I do have a good spice tolerance But that cake tasted like they dumped either a club size amount of ginger and cinnamon in it or even perhaps cayenne pepper. I’m not sure if that was on purpose but, it definitely was not to my preference.
I’m not sure how much the mine paid for that but it was...
Read moreDuring the week at least this place is kind of dull. There was some regulars chatting and hockey on all 5 scteens. I don't really like hockey, so it was pretty boring. The food is pretty hit-and-miss. It seems like they have at least one good cook, or maybe a chef. But sometimes it can be pretty awful. In 35 years of working on the road, I hsd one of my worsr meals there. The spaghetti special, which wasn't exactly cheap, looked and tasted like it was out of a can of no-name pasta. Thin sauce with literally no ground beef or any sign of a mushroom or some other vegetable. The pasta itself was mushy. Nonetheless, I ate there with a friend 2 nights ago, the hot hamburger. It seemed impossible to screw up right? Well, that's what I would have said about spaghetti, so I shouldn't have been surprised to be throwing up 45 minutes after I ate. I don't have stomach issues at all, nor any food sensitivities. I eat anything I want, anytime I want. Actually, I live on solar power but for a while before I had it up, I didn't have much of any refrigerator and I think sometimes my food may have been a little dodgy. But I can't afford to throw out food so I ate stuff I might not have if I wasn't isolated from regular shopping. I didn't ever get sick though, yet I did from the Federal kitchen. It might have been the wine. I don't drink Merlot, so I wasn't sure if the flavour was odd or I just don't really...
