We hired The Lancaster Smokehouse team to cater our wedding reception in their Lanc Loft back in September 2023!! The space was already so beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for. The Lanc Loft is above the restaurant, and it has a private washroom and bar! A screen for photos (or whatever!), audio hookups for music, and they even had a mic and stand for speeches and our MC! Everything you could need for a wedding reception! Neil was an absolute delight to work with in prepping for the event. He made sure we had everything we needed from tables and linens, to coffee service, and dance lighting (for the party). The food was INCREDIBLE. My husband and I absolutely love BBQ, and they have never disappointed us. The brisket was so tender it was falling apart! Everyone is still raving about the food at our wedding!! Some people have leftover cake they freeze to have later on in their marriage. We had over 30lbs of leftover pulled pork and chicken thighs that we froze in 1lb bags that we are still enjoying (and it’s still delicious!!) If you’re looking for a venue with incredible food, a wonderful space, and a fabulous staff to work with? Book at The Lancaster Smokehouse!! You won’t be disappointed!

Serving sizes were... insanely huge. Coming from a mother chronically accused of always making too much food for dinner. My kids were impressed, which honestly impressed me first. My mom and many others raved about this place incessantly.. Happy to report, it lives up to the hype - especially as lovingly mentioned in the "Food in the Waterloo Region" Facebook group, comprised of kw's finest amateur food critics. Honestly, I barely touched my entree. But, I did microwave it and heat it the next day and it was STILL DELICIOUS.. and worth every dollar and every bite. I sent the leftovers from my kids menu meals (which was only ten dollars!!!!! For more food than any kid I know under 10 can eat in any sitting! Plus a drink, and dessert!) I've lived down the street from this gem for nearly two years, and have sooooo much shame now for a resident so close - to have only tried this magnificent place now. I rated the atmosphere a 4 because it was loud, which annoyed my mother, because my children were there. But ultimately, my mother being annoyed - annoyed me far more than the sound of folx having a great time and good eats around me. Can't wait to go back!

Update June 2024 Lowering my rating to a 3 from 5. Stopped in for lunch around noon on June 4th. Definitely not what it used to be. Service was fantastic, our server was amazing. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with Brussel sprouts, and a brisket sandwich with fries. Fries were good, Brussel sprouts were good, but that's where it ended. Pulled pork was not pulled at all, it was basically big pieces of pork, and had barely any sauce. We had to take it off the bun, pull it apart, add bbq sauce and then put it back on the bun. The brisket was good, but again lacked any sauce or real smokey flavor. Look, not sure if the part time chef was working, but if you're calling yourself a smoke house then get it right. $60 for lunch for 2 people is a lot, so make sure you get it right. Probably won't be back, it just wasn't that good. ------------ May 2023 My new favorite smokehouse, and I've been to a few!!! It's no wonder they were featured on Food Networks "You Gotta Eat Here "!!! IG @mistajay1111 for more pics and info Loved the vibe of this place, they smoke everything themselves every day, and have their own signature sauces. Today we stopped in for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich. Pulled pork was amazing and this is the best brisket I've ever eaten!! Sides were bomb too, but the smoke is what's important and they nail it. Portion sizes are hardy, and prices are reasonable. If you've not been here yet, what are you waiting for?!

The food here is absolutely to die for!!!! Portions are huge and definitely worth it for what you pay for. We always have leftovers to bring home!! We’ve been here multiple times but this time we just ordered a couple of sandwiches which were also so delicious! I recommend their platters so you get to choose which meats and sides you want. (Again, HUGE portions!!!) They have the best smoked meats and choices for sides! I also recommend making a reservation ahead of time on Fridays (there’s live music from 6pm-9pm) and the weekend as the restaurant gets very busy on those days which is amazing for them because the food is absolutely fantastic!!! We came Friday and there were only seats at the bar (there was a full house) which we didn’t mind because the food is so worth it. I also can’t forget to mention how wonderful their service is even on a very hectic evening!! They handle it so well and I praise them for that because I know how stressful it can be. We will return time and time again for their amazing quality, fresh, and tasty food! Thank you Lancaster Smokehouse!!

Fantastic food. Spectacular service. Amazing atmosphere. These folks know how it's done! When our group of five first came in we were told the wait time would be about 35 minutes. It was an especially busy Saturday night and the place is popular so this makes sense. Boy, are we glad we took the gamble and waited it out. We ordered the family special, prefaced by our delightful server - John - that it would feed all of us with plenty to take home. PLENTY WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. 'Dense' is the only term I can use to describe how this food sits in the stomach. Flavour and juice were abundant in every bite of the sweet and smoky ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. The collared greens, mac n cheese, and baked beans made for savory sides. Excuisite were the tater tots and sweet potato fries. Don't question it, just go. It's worth the wait, you'll have a jolly time, and leftovers for a good two days! P.S. Thanks for the amazing service and top-tier recommendations, John!

I recently went to Lancaster Smokehouse and wow… I have to be honest and say that I do not love smokehouses, but THIS one - amazing. At 1:00 pm this place was popping and rightfully so. The service was AMAZING!!!! We were quickly checked on, drinks were refilled without asking, the waitress was so kind (she was blonde with braids!!) and we were so well taken care of. Portions are massive, and the quality of the food!!! WOW! I got the Texas Fries with added pork, by far the best meat I have received from a smokehouse. The pork was huge, tender, flavourful and delicious. All of the sides looked amazing too. The friends I was dining with loved their food and the service they received too. The only complaint and this is totally a personal thing as I get easily overstimulated is that the atmosphere is very busy and loud. Similar to Beertown where at first you are screaming to be heard haha, but then it gets better as time goes on. Already planning my next visit!!
