Went on a May Saturday, early afternoon, just a couple of days after they had re-opened from the CoVid-19 lockdown. Was in search of a cookie or two as a mid-point treat during our cycle from Duncan to Lake Cowichan and return. Unfortunately they were out of cookies for the day, as they had only baked a few and had not expected very many customers yet. Their baked goods selection right now is also limited because their regular suppliers have been experiencing lockdown after-effects. They are working on choosing other resources as well. The two staff I spoke with were very pleasant, and we enjoyed a good (physically-distanced) chat. Will definitely go again on our next trail ride - maybe will call ahead, though, to ensure they’ll have enough cookies on hand...
Read moreOwner is very rude, had asked for light ice and he refused saying “We make it how we make it!” He put one huge ice cube in. Also asked for a straw and he refused saying “You have a sippy cup.” All the while another finished drink was sitting on the counter with ice cubes and a straw. All trivial in the grand scheme of things, but he was rude in his delivery, and not at all cooperative. We have always gone out of our way to stop there, but will definitely not be back now. Their coffee is so good. We had an excellent chat with who I assume was the owner. He was so passionate about coffee and you can tell he is in the business because of his genuine love for a good brew. I'm so happy this place is close to home as I am in Youbou.
