What a charming and nostalgic diner! We had a great time here exploring the cool old school diner interior with booth seatings, old phones, collection of radio and old school phones, juke box. Just so much fun! Service was friendly, fast and little town welcoming. Just the best really. Food to be honest was nothing too special, but homey and exactly what you'd expected. High praise on the shakes though... they were so yummy, creamy and made just the way they should, whipcream, sprinkles and all. If you're coming to eat here, it's for all the greasy stuff :) best lean into it 😉 (no need to order salads) We sat in the rail car that's parked outside and it was so fun. They've done such a great job incorporating the railcar into the dining experience. We ended our visit with old school donkey Kong arcade game and popping in a looney into the Double Bubble bubblegum machine. So fun to watch and what a great experience for my 8 year old to watch. A definite gem of Lake Cowichan and a must must visit for diner loving peeps. Thanks you guys for having us today 😃

Step into a piece of Lake Cowichan history at this delightful, family-run diner, a true multi-generational gem! Having been passed down through three generations, you can feel the warmth and dedication poured into every aspect of this establishment. While classic diner fare like burgers and pizza are certainly on offer, I opted for something different this visit and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious chicken curry. It was a fantastic choice, flavorful and satisfying. My partner enjoyed a classic BLT, and we both ended up taking home leftovers – the portions are incredibly generous and offer excellent value. Beyond the tasty food, this diner is a feast for the eyes. The walls are adorned with an eclectic collection of memorabilia, making for an engaging and nostalgic atmosphere while you dine. From vintage signs to classic arcade games, there's always something interesting to catch your attention. For delicious, reasonably priced food and a truly unique dining experience, I highly recommend a visit to this Lake Cowichan institution.

Great experience, very retro and well decorated as such. Ordered a canadian personal pizza, ham and cheese sandwich and a chocolate milkshake. Very satisfied, the pizza was amazing loads of toppings perfectly thin crispy crust. The aandwich was a bit buttery but the ham was real black forest, cheesy and fresh sourdough bread perfectly grilled. Fries were true fresh cut fries. The shakes are made with soft serve for a great consistency not overly thick. Overall true 5 stars for you guys worth every penny.

We walked in at around 5pm and the restaurant only had a few customers, not busy by any means. when ordering we asked the lady what pizza she recommended and what was most popular in which she didn’t really have anything to say, we asked how many slices the pizza would be- she didn’t know, we ended up just discussing for ourselves and then asked what dips were available, in which she said “umm we have all the dips”- that wasn’t helpful at all so we just asked for ranch and then she listed out the dips afterwards. overall she didn’t seem like she had any knowledge on what was on the menu. we then are given a table number for our dine in experience and don’t hear anything from them for the next 40 mins. the gentleman that was working then walked over to us and let us know that the order was put in as a take out order and apologized. how did she put it as a take out order when she knew we were sitting at the table and came to give us our drinks as well… the gentleman seemed very friendly and we genuinely appreciate him trying to make what was a long process, a more effective one. food was great, service from the lady was not good. thank you to...

Went in and ordered two burgers and a pizza from “Mel”, paid interact . Was told to come back in twenty minutes. Came back in twenty minutes. Had to wait 25 more minutes. No big deal. Got my burgers. Was waiting for my pizza. Waiting for my pizza. Waiting for my pizza . Asked “Mel” where the pizza was. She said I didn’t order a pizza. I said “the order came to around $80.00 , don’t you think that’s a little expensive for two burgers, two fries?” She said “where is your receipt? “ I said you walked away when it was printing off. She just said you didn’t order a pizza , just the burgers and fries. And we are closing in 10 minutes.I said check in the back with the cook. She repeated that I didn’t order a pizza. And walked away. I remained standing at the counter till closing time. At closing time the cook came out of the back and asked who’s pizza is this? I said it is my pizza , the cook then handed it to me with “Mel giving me the stare down. Obviously the food was cold, but the taste was alright. Hate cold fries though. Never had a waitress act so pompous and rude. I’d give the food a 4 star rating, the...
