Kona Sushi - Lakeshore — Restaurant in Lakeshore

First time at Kona in lakeshore.

The service was outstanding, the apps and rolls were absolutely high quality. The sushi chef and waitress were incredible.

I traveled from chatham to try Kona out with a friend and it's safe to say both of us are interested in coming back sooner than later.

10/10 recommend

The food and service couldn't have been better! I'm already thinking about making the pilgrimage again!

*September 2024 update: Tyler and Prateek made my wide and I's night. A normal sushi dinner date was made way better with the service and vibe provided!

Prateek blew us away with the presentation of the rolls, while the table service from Tyler was professional, prompt, and very courteous.

Food was great across the board as always.

I highly recommend making the trip to this location of Kona and hope you get the awesome service of these two.

*December 2024 update! A couple of my friends as well as a couple of their kids went to Kona for dinner and I was blown away by the service from Emily our server. She took time to explain everything for a friend who’s first time it was, and spent lots of time being awesome with the kids. Another amazing sushi night in the books.

*April 2025 update: Service and food were amazing as always. It was a no brainer when I had to decide where to go for birthday dinner. Kona 4 Life...

Terrible service for a second time- we love Kona but this location has terrible service!

Visited with my husband and 7 year old - over twenty minutes for menus and a drink order do be taken - once drinks arrived our waitress never returned to take our order. 2 other servers working and no one came over to help out. One server had the table behind us ( the woman was waiting for her grandson and not ordering) but the server was just standing around chatting with her. The guy behind the counter made eye contact several times but made no effort to assist. I get that it was very busy, and can appreciate that, but this was chaos, at one point all the servers were on the second level.

I am not one to complain, and didn’t really want to find another restaurant with my child in toe at 8pm but we eventually gave up waiting- offered to pay for our drinks and left. Our waitress thankfully did not charge us and did offer an apology. She seemed very frazzled .

This is not the first time we have encountered lengthy waits and poor service at the Lakeshore location!

They always seem to be busy but never seem to have enough...

Went for a buffet dinner few months ago and it was my second time. First time all was good, service and food. Second time however the food was not bad compared to my first visit but the service was bad to say the least. The waitress was nice but it’d take her 20 min to bring out what was ordered and that went on for about an hour and half. They raised their prices for the buffet and I had no issues with that but they made damn sure that the customer would just give up and stop ordering. I’m not taking tens of dishes/orders; it was few dishes trying something new.

The 5 star reviews posted from other reviewers, I’d comfortably say that 90 % of them were offered the $5 off their bill to do it. The waitress (not mine) asked the table behind me and the one across to do that. Then she waited to see the 5 start review then apply the discount. My waitress never asked me because she knew they screwed up. I paid my bill in full plus tip because I know better. Reviews should be honest and reflect only the customers...
