I recently had the pleasure of dining at Les Insulaire - Microbrasserie, and I can confidently say it was amazing. It changed a lot from the time I went. My first and second time were a disappointment a couple years ago. But now, I had a good experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by a friendly and professional staff who made me feel right at home. The ambiance was delightful, with tasteful decor and a cozy atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable evening. The food I took was incredible, as long as you stay away from the poutine. Every dish that graced my table was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with incredible flavors. The attention to detail was evident, from the meticulously crafted appetizers to the impeccably cooked main courses. With attentive and knowledgeable staff who went above and beyond to ensure a seamless dining experience. The beverage selection was equally impressive, with an extensive beer list. It was off the chart. Overall, they exceeded all my expectations and left me wanting more. A big change from the first time I went. I highly recommend this...
Read moreVisited on December 19, 2018, in the afternoon. Laval's first brewpub (not counting Les 3 Brasseurs), located in Pont-Viau in a former (what I've heard) shaddy sports bar, there is some parking in front and on the side of the place. From the outside it does not look much, gray and generic, but the inside bright and cosy. The decor is a half 60's, half 2010's, the brewpub is divided in two sections, the main one with the square bar and a smaller next to the brewery and windows, they also have a terrasse. They have 5 of their own on tap, plus a bunch of invites from known and lesser known Quebec breweries. I had four 4 oz tasters for $9, quite solid for a less than a mouth old brewery. The food looks interesting, not your typical pub faire. Great friendly staff. They just set the bar very high for the second brewpub in Laval, if it...
Read moreNice brewery/pub but their reservation system is far below expectations. We were a group of 16 eating and drinking adults and they kicked us out after 2.5 hours. We had a reservation (done 3 weeks prior) but they only told a random person at the table once we were already seated The service felt rushed (obviously, how can you hope to seat, serve & charge a group of 16 in the same amount of time as a group of 4) and the server was getting impatient at the end. We opted for a brewery/restaurant because our intention was to eat there and continue drinking there afterwards. If we would have wanted to go to a restaurant, we would have gone to a restaurant. In short,...
