I stopped on my way from work yesterday, I was craving mixed baklawa, so I bought half a kilo and I also saw that they had a box of mixed kaak (pistachio, hazelnuts and dates) so I bought that too.
The mixed baklava was not up to par, my reference point here is not Mahrousa, more like Adnois which I think is very unauthentic and low quality.
I've tried several ones, what I've observed that they were not fresh, dry, there was no absorption of the sauce in the pieces I've tried, and had an cardboardy after taste (probably because it was overcooked)
The Kaak was a mixed bag, the pistachio one was good and I liked it but the dough of the hazelnut had a stale taste. I didn't try the dates one.
I spent $35 on these 2 items, it didn't do it for me, and I'm not willing to invest additional money to find out if it was just a bad luck or that the...

After trying a variety of their cakes, the only two that were decent were the strawberry short cake and almond raspberry tart.
