Saiko — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

I order from this restaurant quite often and have been a regular customer ever since I discovered Saiko more than a year ago. I did not expect to find such an incredible sushi restaurant in Laval. Since discovering Saiko in Laval, I refuse to order sushi or sashimi anywhere else. It is simply the best sushi restaurant.

Staff at this restaurant are always friendly and accomodating. Prices and portions are very reasonable and the menu offerings are not overpriced like at many other sushi restaurants I have been to. Service at Saiko has always been punctual and orders were always ready on time for pickup.

The sushi rolls and sashimi on the menu are beautifully crafted and delicious. They resemble artwork. Sushi and sashimi are always made with the freshest and tastiest seafood and ingredients. Of course, the emphasis is on the freshness of the ingredients. In addition to this, Saiko excels at every aspect of sushi and sashimi creation. Perfect ingredient pairings and flavor combinations used in sushi rolls and sashimi platters at Saiko demonstrate the ability of the chefs to understand different cuts and types of fish. Sushi and sashimi flavor and quality at this restaurant are on par with, if not better than, some of the best and most expensive sushi restaurants I have been to in NYC.

I highly recommend the Chirashi platter, the Ste Dorothée roll, the Saiko roll, the organic salmon nigiri/sashimi and the aburi nigiri/sashimi offerings.

I truly hope that Saiko in Laval will continue to be with us for many, many years to come and continue to maintain its superb food...

I placed an order at 11 AM, on Doordash, for pickup between 6:20-6:40 PM. My boyfriend stopped there on his way home from work, and came home EMPTY HANDED past 8. Every single time he asked about our order, they told him it would be 20 more minutes. On the app it stated my order was ready, and had been picked up. Since my order was placed through Doordash, they had to issue the reimbursement. They only wanted to issue a credit, which I was not accepting. I totally understand it's a small place, I totally understand all restaurants are busy, ESPECIALLY on Valentine's Day, but the fact that so many people came and went with their orders, while my boyfriend was continually lied to about our order "only being another 20 minutes," I went there myself. I got my order over an hour and half AFTER my scheduled pickup time. I told them I wanted my money back, and they said my order could be done in 10 minutes, I chose to take the chance since SO much time had already been wasted. Miraculously, they were able to pull it off, and get my order done in 10 minutes. I don't care how nice they are, or how good the sushi is, I will absolutely NEVER go back to this establishment, and I will be telling everyone about my experience when the topic of sushi/sushi locations come up. Our first and last time here! We had made reservations for a special occasion, our table was ready but the bowls and plates were dirty we had to have them replaced. We ordered soup and the waitress threw the bowls on the table and made a big spill and I had to ask for napkins so I could clean it up myself. The food was good but service was super slow, until we found a broken fake nail in one of the rolls 🤢🤮 we couldn't eat after that, we were all so grossed out and the worst part is they didn't seem to care.
