Made a reservation for 2 on a Friday night (July 5) at 6:30 pm to celebrate our anniversary with romantic atmosphere. We walked in to a boisterous group party of about 30 people. The waiter showed us to our table about 20 feet away and apologized in advance for the noise.
We ordered a bottle of Ruffino Prosecco Rosé. It was chilled and perfect. But, with the wait staff disappearing for prolonged periods of time throughout the night, our glasses were always empty and so I ended up pouring and serving ourselves the Prosecco in our glasses all night. That’s not right.
Complementary bruschetta was nice touch and tasty.
Commentary ciabatta bread. Good.
Ordered one meatball to share. It was tepid in temperature but meatball and sauce itself were tasty.
Ordered a caeser salad. Portion was good and dressing was tasty but a bit heavy on the dressing.
Ordered rapini and sausage. It was okay.
Main meals: (1) meat tortellini rosé which was an ok portion and pretty good. As opposed to the meatball, it came out piping hot. (2) veal Dijonnaise with side of 4 baby potatoes, a stem of broccoli and one roasted red pepper. Heavy on the sauce but overall dish was pretty good.
Then wait staff came to a grinding halt and no one came back for about 20 minutes. When they finally did come to clear the dishes, they offered dessert menus. We ordered limoncello cake and tiramisu and espresso. The desserts were both excellent.
Again waited a good 25 minutes for anyone to come back to tend to our table.
We asked for the bill and it was finally brought. They also brought two slices of watermelon which we a nice touch.
But Honest question and curious about this next point: we remember coming in past and being offered a grappa or limoncello digestive. The three tables before us who were brought bills and settling up the bill were brought digestives. Makes us wonder if the couples ordered them, or if it was an oversight on the part of our waitress or if our $190 bill didn’t meet the mark of $200 to be offered this? It used to be a nice touch.
Whole experience took 2.5 hours mainly due to absent or slow service.
Suggestion to partition restaurant when there is a group party from other patrons.

Arrived at the restaurant at 7pm Saturday-on time. Noisy place seating maybe 60. Average disposition of the tables in a rectangular open space. No ambiance. Lighting not really romantic either. The staff was composed of two servers and one helper for 60 people. Not very professional. The food was average. I ordered grilled salmon - $32.50 from the host menu – comes with a small Caesar salad (yellow faded iceberg)and Tiramisu-(bad choice) – it came with Bok choy and a slice of red pepper with two small slices of fried potatoes - overcooked. The portions were very small and it seemed like they were rationing food for people on a diet. The veal my sister ordered was cold and came with…you guessed it, the cheapest vegetable they could find, Bok Choy. Portion of veal was small. The Lasagna ordered by my brother also came only as a child’s portion with adult prices (He weighs 200 pounds) With my thinly sliced salmon, I asked if they could replace the vegetables with Gnocchi. The waiter went into a long rant about the cost of replacement and finally told me it would cost me $10 more if I asked to replace the vegetables… talk about a vengeful restaurant!! I opted to stay with the Bock choy just to spite him. The food itself was average, for what we saw of it, but the overall experience left me with a feeling this restaurant’s main mission was to make money, and only to make money. They don’t care if the customer doesn’t come back. In conclusion, I would have paid the $10 more for Gnocchi or anything else they needed in order to make this a pleasant evening, they missed a good opportunity to...
Read moreMy wife and I chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary, thinking it was a quiet romantic restaurant with good food and soft Italian music in the background as the past reviews stated. Unfortunately, it wasn't:( There was a party of 30, celebrating an engagement & birthday, that were very loud and there was no music in the background. Or maybe there was, but sure couldn't hear anything with all the loud conversations people were having. Besides that, service was very slow...maybe cause of the party. I personnaly think parties should be in a back room or something, Not in the front with other clients. Felt like I was at a wedding with the clinking of glasses to kiss every 20 minutes. Food was good, nothing special. Overall, quite disappointed. Sure miss the old Due Compari restaurant that was there years ago, where the host came around with grappa and limoncello shots and service was...
