Be aware of scammers I recently had a disappointing experience at Star Kebab that I want to share. I went there and ordered two Star Kabab Platters, each costing $34.99, which included beef, chicken, and goat kababs. I also ordered two bowls of Halim for $8.99 each and two Masala Teas.

Upon receiving the bill, which totaled $128, I felt the amount was higher than what I had ordered. When I questioned the waiter about the bill, he insisted that the charges were correct for the items ordered. However, upon my insistence to see the itemized receipt, he revealed that a 15% service fee had been added, a detail that was neither mentioned beforehand nor was it customary in the context of our meal.

Further reviewing of the receipt showed that the 15% added was not for a service fee but was instead pre-entered as a tip, without my consent. The waiter had entered this tip himself before handing me the payment machine, thereby bypassing the tipping option. When confronted, the waiter pleaded for understanding, stating it was a mistake and emphasizing our shared Bangladeshi heritage as a reason to overlook the issue.

This is just stealing people's money. The waiters are Bangladeshi refugees who have come very recently. One of them is from Noakhali or something like that who handles the billing; another one is from Chadpur who takes the orders and wears glasses. These fake refugees came to Canada a few months ago and started stealing money from Bangladeshi people because hardly anyone checks the receipts. And every day, they are stealing 15% of every order. I think the owner of the restaurant is also aware of this. So be careful when dealing with these liar and thief waiters and cashiers.

This experience has made me cautious and I believe it’s important to always check your bill closely. Sadly, this visit to Star Kebab was more stressful than enjoyable due to these...

I’ve had two fantastic experiences at Star Kebab Laval, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone craving authentic Bangladeshi or South Asian cuisine!

The first was a dine-in experience where I got to try their Haleem. It was perfectly spicy and bursting with flavor, just the way it should be. The beef and mutton kebabs were exactly what I was craving – tender, juicy, and packed with that rich, smoky flavor that reminds me of traditional Bangladeshi kebabs. Every bite was a delight!

The second experience was a home delivery order, and I was just as impressed. We ordered 6 portions of polau and chicken roast, which were more than enough to feed our family of five for two days. The chicken roast was tender and flavorful, and the polau was perfectly spiced. We also ordered chicken kebabs with naan, which were absolutely delicious – they paired so well together. The delivery was fast, arriving in under an hour, which was a nice surprise.

Star Kebab Laval has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic South Asian food. Whether you’re dining in or ordering delivery, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommended for all...

Food: Food is extremely good Price: Price is good Business policy: A lot to improve as right now, it is very opinionated. For an example, they don’t let you complete your order with 6 Fuchka, 6 Halim, 6 Kabab platter and couple of drinks for a group of 10 people. They force you to add order from main course, even though you are thru with the huge appetiser order/ you have to bring the entire main course to home. If you say that you don’t wanna add the main course item, they would blame that only Bangladeshi people are doing this. No idea, if they are not happy in servicing Bengali clients, then whom do they target to serve authentic Bangladeshi food!!! If their business policy is like this, they should declare open that they are not serving Bengali people as Bengali people are not ordering items from main course after enjoying the kabab platter(big enough and worth 34.99 cad).
