Pop's Taphouse & Grill South — Restaurant in Lethbridge

January 13, 2018 Started off there with 6 people at 7pm there were 2 other small tables. Took about 20mins to get a drink order and another 10 on top of that to get menus. Ordered appetizers and a meal, got appetizers and they tasted great but we waited and waited for the meal and server never came to our table to check drinks or ask about the food. Even though she kept checking a table right beside ours. 45min after food order Got her attention and asked about the meal and she never rang it in. Asked for the bills and we did not get them for another 10mins. After the bills were paid, The server came back and asked why none of us tipped her, we said because there was horrible service. Then she started to say that we should’ve booked a table for 6 people when there was no one else in the pub and to expect slow service on busy days. Yet there were only two tables when we got there. Wings were great. Service was horrible. Even when people left and the pub was slower it was like trying to get a horse to drink water, to get any service. I had to order my drinks 2 at time. Same with wings. I was there at 6 and 710 i still had not recieved my wings( got first order shortly after 710). I thought well they're busy it's fine. Ordered a second basket of wings it was 845 and still no wimgs i asked for it to be taken off bill as everyone was paying and leaving. The waitress said can i go check on them i said i guess but im not waiting any longer.waitress came out with wings at that time.Would like to try their other food but with the service the way it was I won't make an effort to go out of my way to try. When we asked for our bills we waited 15-20 mins and she came by and asked if we wanted our bills... yes we asked for them awhile ago. My friend had to go to the bar to pay his. Not sure what was with the lack of service, but if that was fixed this place...

Decent food, but for the price I would hope the food would be excellent.

I got wings which were delicious. For $18, I would hope for the plate to have a little more than 8 wings and 2 vegetable sticks.

I know their waffle fries are great, so I was excited to try a poutine with them! Turns out the poutine is made with normal fries - I'm not sure if that was mentioned in the menu, but it should be.

The poutine was unusual. Many of the fries were extremely well done, to the point of being very hard. I couldn't finish it - the fries tasted like dried out croutons. The gravy is also fairly unusual as far as restaurant gravies go. If you like something that tastes a little "off the beaten path," you may really enjoy this, but I will pass on any gravy if I'm here again.
