When the AYCE sushi cravings strike… I did my research and found Taiyo in Longueuil. Réservation is a must! It has a parking that makes it convenient. You order thru tablets and it’s easy to keep track of the quantity you order as a group. The price during the week is lower than weekend, it was about $45 (taxes and tips included for us - no drinks). They have great variety for sashimi, nigiri and rolls. The kitchen has all the classic items in this type of restaurant. The flavor is pretty good. They were pretty swamped when we arrived, so the service before sitting down is so so. However, they are really good and quick with their service once you put in your order. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely go back.

Price and service are probably the only benefits here. That's if you choose to come in at lunch hours for 28.95 + tax. Otherwise you're paying a fat 50+ dollar cost, which isn't worth it for the quality of food given. Picture #1 - Bland udon noodle dish with no flavor. Picture#2 - Heavy amount of fried skin on shrimps, ended up making me feel sick just by eating it. Sushis are just as heavily fried and do not taste good. Picture#3 - Lack of desserts for the overall menu, they even removed the banana split from the prior one. Not to mention that I was given a mean stare for taking some of the free candy on the counter.

We had a very nice experience here at Taiyo in Longueuil. Their restaurant is very nice inside, beautifully decorated and has a nice ambiance. We came on a Saturday evening for dinner (the services are in blocks of 2 hours). We came for the first service from 4:00-6:00pm, which I found to be ideal as there were people but it didn't feel as crowded. We were told before hand that we had 2 hours, which I appreciated knowing in advance. We had a reservation, so when we arrived, we were seated right away. You can use the tablet at the table to order. Be sure to pay attention to what you are ordering as the number of pieces per order is indicated under the item (ie. Takoyaki comes as 1 pc per order). Of course you can order multiple pieces, however we ordered a little at a time over the course of our 2 hours as we didn't want to waste anything. I have to say that the menu is wide and varied, with something for everyone's taste. They also serve cocktails, beers (yes, also Sapporo), and wine by the bottle or glass. All of our food that we ordered came quite quickly and was hot and fresh. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious and incredibly visually appealing. The little touches, combined with the depth of flavors and variety of the menu really sets Taiyo's food apart from other "all you can eat" sushi places. I enjoyed being able to browse through the menu visually on the tablet, order straight to the table and enjoy our food without interruption. For two people, for dinner, on a Saturday evening, it was about $45 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip. It was well worth the bill however. It is also worth mentioning that they have several during the week specials as well as a lunch buffet during the week (Monday to Thursday) for $28.95 per person (there are a few premium menu items that are only available when ordering the dinner menu however). I highly recommend you check out this hidden gem, it is definitely...

I went there sometimes despite the high prices, because I have to admit the food is (most of the time) good. On the other hand, there is one person who is unpleasant every time we go there with my family and friends. I don't know if he's the manager or just a waiter, because he takes care of the cash register, as well as table service sometimes. The last time, however, was one time too many. We come to pay and I'm the last. My friends pay and tip with their card. When I come to pay, I don't tip with my card, because I want to give it in cash. And then, this person looks at me before I can even take my money out of my wallet and nastily says, loud and clear for the whole restaurant, that the tip was not included in the price ($50+) that I just paid. Plus, he says it with attitude and rolls his eyes. I still gave cash for the tip, since one of the waitresses had been particularly attentive and kind during the service. My friends told me that I should have not given any money at all, but I found it unfair that other workers were penalized because of one person's lack of manners. I worked in the restaurant business and this attitude is unacceptable, regardless of whether the person had a bad day or whether or not the customer tipped. Above all, it's disappointing that this consistently only comes from one member of staff. It's decided, I...

This review is for their Saint Denis location

We went to this sushi restaurant by chance because we were really hungry! Didn’t check reviews or anything. Let me tell you I’ve tried every AYCAE sushi in Montreal and Taiyo is the best one yet. The restaurant is beautfully decorated, amazing atmosphere with welcoming employees.

The food is fresh especially their sashimi! A lot of selections. They also have the wafu sesame sauce to dip and honestly I can’t believe I’ve never been here. They also have good side dishes. Their tempura is perfect, not too much batter just how we love it! No dimsum but the owner was honest with us they would have to steam some frozen dimsum hence it won’t be fresh to serve. Only came for lunch and I can’t wait to try their dinner menu.

Service was amazing 5/5 thank you Long for running outside to return our water bottle!

Thank you Long for having my family in your...
