Popped in for a light lunch. We shared the soup du jour and a braised beef sandwich. Both were good, nothing that was exceptional, but still good. Just not great. Atmosphere inside was a bit sad (one other family there and then two patrons in the front chairs on their phones). Some of the decor is a bit on the “in disrepair” side (especially one of the bathrooms), but the service was friendly and attentive. Has a great deal of potential. Might need just a touch of TLC, but it’s a good, solid option (of about four total options) in Louisbourg.

Came here for a light lunch on our way to the fortress. Happy we picked this little restaurant as the food was excellent. We ordered the linguini with the Aioli sauce and the marinara sauce with some seafood. The food was excellent. We also ordered the garden salad, which tasted great. You also have to try their butter pecan pastry, wow. The staff are so nice, and the service is quick. The owner/chef also comes by to ask about the food.

Michael and Rhonda have opened a restaurant that Louisbourg so badly needed! I go in the morning to pick up my fresh sourdough bread and a chai latte and then grab some great dinners like paella and mushroom strudel and takeout sandwiches at the weekend. Top notch.

Was excited to try out a new local café so we gave it a try. We ordered baked goods a few weeks back, blueberry danish was dry and hard as a rock but the cookies however were good!
We weren’t really pleased but we decided to give it another go this morning. Ordered a breakfast plate, a parfait and 2 coffees. When got to the table I immediately before even opening my parfait noticed a little hair on the cup, I nicely told the lady who served us, she seemed confused and said she’d be back, (I thought she’d be going out back to grab a manager or something) however she just went to the counter got some gloves, opened the parfait and started wiping the inside of the cup
she inspected it in front of us for a good minute and said it wasn’t there..??? After she had just wiped it off lol. My boyfriend and I both saw it and I believe she had to have as well before wiping it away. She then took it out back to the cooks where we could hear them bantering about how it’s not there saying “get her to show me where the hair is then” and asking if we were still there. Then they walked out of the kitchen to look at us, and went to go back in so I stopped the man and asked if he wanted to talk to us( because it seemed like he did from his conversations out back.) When he came over he was incredibly rude making it seem like we were lying and saying there was no hair (obviously because she just wiped it away???) and with a horrible tone said “well I can make you a new one”. I said no because now I just wanted to leave
my boyfriend told him that is a terrible way to run a business, all he had to say was “oh yeah”😂. Another lady then came over who was more reasonable and nicely tried to give a new parfait. If that’s how it would have been resolved from the get go we would have been satisfied. I myself am a server and bartender, I would never make something up like that especially given the fact I’m pregnant and was nauseous all morning, I just wanted something to eat. And I know it’s an easy mistake, even with hairnets, arm hairs, beard hairs can shed, it can very easily happen
I don’t like to be made out as a liar when all I wanted was something to eat without a hair in it. I would have loved to support a new local business, and I am not one to write bad reviews
However the way we were treated today was awful I felt like I was being made out to be a liar and above all gaslit that there wasn’t a hair in my food when there 100% was. Sadly we won’t be returning and will be sure to let family and...

Has potential but not there yet. We arrived, it’s decor is lovely, the waitress was very new- kept calling two clearly 40 year old women “girls”, did not know the catch of the day nor volunteer the soup of the day.

We asked about the baked brie and what accompanied it only to be told- nothing
it’s also a bakery and there was literal baguette in view of our table- I have never heard of a restaurant expecting one to just eat Brie with a fork
 we passed

Ordered the arancini- no noticeable lobster meat and unseasoned tomato sauce

Also ordered the paella- rice with sauce on it, seafood in it was good but undercooked mussels

House salad, dressed with just oil so really no flavour.

Overall a lovely restaurant that is just opening and the food definitely needs some tweaking but...

What a delightful surprise in this lovely town. The food we had for lunch was excellent. 3 of us had the half & half. Soup & 1/2 sandwich (beef brisket). The bread was super, meat yummy, and sandwich interesting with the slaw on it. The soup of the day was delightful. One of us had the baked Brie with compote - also excellent. We sat outside on a lovely day but inside is also inviting. We were just visiting fortress for the day or we would make this a frequent stop. We did not sample their delicious looking bake goods because we were full. Wait staff very helpful and...
