Summer 2015
Complaint about ordering hot water and internet connection:
I was excited that a new Tims was opened here and was a regular customer, I stopped when the new owner began a tight fisted approach to running this location.
I have been across Canada and never have I encountered such a penny pinching attitude and will not return to Barrys Bay until this is corrected.
After drinking coffee most of the day I asked for a cup of boiling hot water which I need to do after drinking a lot of coffee, However I told I was going to be charged $1.40 for a cup of hot water. This was my first encounter with such a request anywhere between Pembroke Ontario and Victoria BC. I usually order something with the hot water especially after I have drank several cups of coffee. I did not understand why this was happening and asked why I was being charged for hot water. The clerk said it was the owner who wanted this. I asked to speak to the owner but the owner was not there.
I have traveled 30 kms to this Barrys Bay location for lunch and work on my computer. I was then told the internet was not working, I asked when it would be fixed and was told the owner would not say, The next day I returned and was told the same thing again.
I now have to drive 50kms to Pembroke where the internet and hot water are free at all three of the Tim Horton locations.
Because this is a franchise and Tim Hortons is my main stop location for three meals when I want to eat out. I would like the owner contacted in Barrys Bay and told to comply with what other Tim Hortons location offer across...
Read moreThe Tim Hortons in Barry's Bay indicated they are having trouble finding staff. They have a sign posted. I'm guessing it's to not be too harsh on them. However when we were there, there were about 8 people behind the counter serving food. They had a constant flow of people both in the drive thru as well as in the building. The seats for the booths inside were all broken and cracked. Missing foam for the seats. I've combined the food and service score because when we ordered an egg and sausage BISCUIT. We got English muffins. When we asked for biscuits after getting the food we were told the person that took the order put in English muffins and we weren't allowed to get biscuits. We ordered for more family to take away subsequently after our incident. We asked when ordering to ENSURE we got biscuits this time and for a second time we got English muffins instead of biscuits. This time when we pushed back we got biscuits. Not a fun morning having to argue for what...
Read moreI can't say how the coffee or food is at this Barry's Bay location. I have been here 3 times and it was locked up & closed on a few Saturday afternoons (June/July). There were some locals I spoke with who informed me that Tim Hortons (& other businesses in this area) have no people to employ! Some residents would rather live off the government than get a job. Mr Trudeau's liberal party is not only condoning this behaviour of the lazy people, their even being housed at the Pinewood resort too!?!! Apparently these unemployed/gov't assistance recipients blame the citizens from Toronto for their living situation. As Torontoians purchased many low income buildings & made them better in many ways, they increased the rent along with it. Everything in the world has seen increases, cost of living is expensive. But to say, well I'm not working, I choose to live at a resort for free!!OMG, this is not the...
