Went out for lunch on Tuesday. The server didn't say hello or welcome us, just say Two? anywhere is fine. When she came to our table with the tablet she puts the orders on she said nothing and just stood there waiting for us to say something. We placed our order. Then she stood there blankly saying nothing until I asked why and she said she was wondering what we were talking about about..umm that was our conversation not one with her. Wildly unprofessional. When my lunch finally arrived almost a half hour later the fish was excellent but the fries were chewy at best and the coleslaw was gone brown at the edges and there was some odd heat flavour in it. Some of this could have been dealt with I'm sure but she never once checked on us never once asked us did we want anything along the way, water etc. When I went to the pay station at the bar to pay and asked for the cheque she looked at me blankly, said nothing. didn't ask how things were ..nothing. Add to this that the chair I was on was horribly wobbly (The floor not the chair ) and there was this weird plastic, rubbery, table cover over the table, the renovations inside looked a bit rushed and undone. I have many years of experience in the service industry and things can go wrong and not be perfect , that is why you have to give the kitchen a chance to make things right by always ,always doing a quality check . service like this is a...

Tried this place last summer, and the pizza was really good. My only complaint was it took over an hour to get a takeout pizza. They were fairly new owners of the place at that point, I figured it was just them getting things up and rolling. So today, we went to town and tried to order a pizza, and when done putting in the order, I was told it would take over 1 hour and 15 min just to get a takeout pizza. This is before 5 pm on a Thursday. There was only one person sitting outside, and the place didn't seem very busy, although in fairness, I don't know what was going on in the background. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I'm not sure why it takes so long to get food, but I was not going to wait an hour and a quarter for a takeout pizza. It's just way too long, in my opinion. It was a shame because, as I said, the last pizza was delicious. Hopefully, this was just a bad coincidence, but if not, I hope they get their food preparation times down to a reasonable level. I would also like to see prices come down a bit. I asked for 2 garlic dips for the pizza and was told it was $7, so $3.50 just for a dip. I expect to pay more in cottage country, but that was a bit shocking. I would have happily waited 30 to 45 min, but over an hour was just too long to sit waiting. If you have the time, you should...

I give this restaurant a two star rating instead of one because the front of house wait staff was pleasant. However this restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis. It seems to be trying to be a gourmet pizza joint. However they treat you like a second hand citizen by making those who want take out go this sketchy side door which enters into the kitchen.

When I arrived on the side in the kitchen to pick up my pizza I was not greeted. I waited about two minutes before being asked If I could be helped. The man who asked me had a ridulously long mustache and no net over it. And there was a child doing dishes that seemed far to young to be working.

None the less I digress. The pizza I ordered was a Vito's special large size. I was not impressed! I heard so many good reviews and had to try it. However I was far from impressed. The main reason for my negative review is that the pizza was a disgrace. It was disgustingly greasy soo much so that it tasted like wet cardboard and it went through the thick cardboard box and left a grease stain where I sat it. When I went to actually try the pizza I lifted it out and it was so soaking wet and gross it just flopped down and broke. P The amount of grease was repulsive and could be simply fixed. It's a shame it...

The food was ok. I had the signature Vito's pizza. It came a fair bit after the other entrees were delivered, but came out hot. The other mains were ok, lower quality than in pubs or bar food. The toppings were the best part of the pie, lots of bacon and cheese. Unfortunately the dough was raw at the bottom. It could have used maybe another minute or two in the oven. If this was a Dave Portnoy review I'd give it a 5/10. Edit: The restaurant replied and said if I had a different preference for the cook on the pizza, I should have made them aware. I didn't know I had to request a fully cooked pizza, but sure I'll admit I did not. The restaurant was closed at this point and staff headed home. They also claim that their double oven procedure for cooking the pizza is the reason for the delay between mains, but I've never seen a pizza take longer than 15 minutes even when I bake them from scratch. All I could see in the kitchen was 5-7 people standing around talking with one another while the server begged for the plate. Additionally, if the Chicken Parm actually had parmesan on it, or if the sauce wasn't straight from a can, my score would be higher.

This was our favorite place/food/experience on our Canada trip. We are from North Carolina USA, and wanted to eat somewhere local. We could not have made a better choice! Let me start with our server Brooke… she was AMAZING! In addition to her being very helpful and kind with our order, we witnessed her welcoming other customers by name, assisting an elderly customer to her vehicle, and knowing a regular customers order as soon as they walked in. She was exactly what you want in a representative for your business. Now the food…. Equally fantastic! We ordered the fries poutine, meat lovers pizza, and fish and chips. All were hot and delicious! We feel so fortunate to have visited Vito’s Pizzeria this evening. Thank you for a fantastic meal and a showing of Canadian hospitality.

DW and I were passing through Barry's Bay and decided to stop for dinner. We're glad we happened upon Vitos. Great service and excellent pizza. Good choice of craft beer, too. They had a special menu because it was Mother's Day and I was tempted by the ribs. A fellow at a table across from us had them and they looked good. I asked him how they were and he said they were fall-off-the-bone great. I'd definitely return the next time I pass through the town.
