Since sending my experience to you guys weeks ago through your site and no response, I'll leave my review here:
If I could give this review 0 stars, I would.
Chatime has been a long time favourite of mine. It's my treat at the end of a long week. Today (Nov. 25 th) I was at the Markville location. I treated myself to my usual (large, cold, Earl grey oat milk tea, no sugar, no ice with extra pearls). I entered the store and realized there was a bit of a line, so I went to one of the machines and placed my order. My receipt printed and I waited. Minutes later, the order before me was ready and a gentleman stepped forward to get his order and left promptly, no questions asked. Minutes later, my order was ready as I held out my hand the red/orange haired barista gave me a blank stare and said, "...receipt please..." I showed her my receipt and then she gave me my drink. I hung back and waited for the gentleman who came in after me and ordered (he too also ordered at the machine). When his drink was finished the same barista called out the drink order. The gentleman stepped forward and she promptly gave him his drink, again NO questions asked.
It is very disheartening to experience stereotypical behaviour in one of your stores. I am a person of colour, whatever her idea was of me without knowing me, I'm sure it was nothing short of any racist ideation. I see this type of behaviour day in and day out, but when it's directed at you; it hits differently. I hesitated just outside of your store, but then walked back into the store to express my disappointment. The barista looked at me dazed and confused as if she didn't know what I was talking about (although she spoke perfect English to me when demanding my receipt). The supervisor/manager on duty interjected and said that, "...that wasn't her intention and that people's orders get mixed up...." I'm sorry, but this is a cop out. That explanation wasn't good enough for me. If orders keep getting mixed up then EVERYONE'S receipts should be checked and not just persons of colour who walk into your establishment. I at no point in time came across aggressive or confrontational because that isn't what I stand for. As a member of the service we have mandatory courses in diversity, maybe this is something that all your employees should have to complete if they're going to be working in the customer service field.

Read moreI’ve ordered 4 drinks in large size today and was given a 4 cup drink holder tray to hold my drinks. The drink holder tray was very flimsy and shallow and does not fit the bubble tea cups at all. The cup size is smaller than the cup hole which gave room for the cups to move around in the tray. After leaving the store, two of my drinks fell to the ground due to the fact that the tray was unpractical. Immediately I went back to take to the “assistant manager” about the issue and she was not able to provide any agreeable solution to this problem. Not only did she not apologize for this, but also kept blaming the head quarters for the cup holder supplies. We asked her to remake the drinks that spilled, but she said she couldn’t do it due to inventory management issues. To be honest, what inventory is there to count? The number of tapiocas used on a monthly based? Or the amount of free tap water this is used to make drinks? Her reasonings were very lame. Since these drinks were for me and my team, it made all of us really disappointed. I am very upset about the assistant manger’s way of handling this situation, and most importantly the attitude she gave when we spoke to her about the incident. My team and I have all decided that there are better bubble tea stores in the mall other than Chatime...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this location since it opened. There’s always so many customers there but they manage to make the drinks so fast. One time I came to the store and seen a lot of people so I ordered from the app. I placed my order for 4 drinks and walked over to GameStop which is very close to chatime. I did not even make it into the GameStop store and I got an alert that my drinks were ready. I thought it was a system glitch but decided to head back to chatime to check it out. I came inside and gave them my name and showed my confirmation email. My drinks were ready! I was quite impressed. Staff is always friendly here. They have a great team. The girls move fast. I used to go to Castlemore location and they take 20-30 mins to complete an order. 95% of the time Castlemore made my milk tea smoothie wrong and forgot the grass jelly or pearls. Downtown Markham takes a long time to make drinks too and the parking situation there is a no go. Markville Chatime is my go to location. I love how they are right by the entrance. I do not have walk a marathon through the mall just to get a drink. My only problem is I go here too much. I think I may have an addiction to...
