Honoka Japanese Dessert Café — Restaurant in Markham

December 8, 2024 - After walking around the neighborhood I noticed that the new shop was finally opened. The interior is very beautiful. I believe today was a soft opening, so there is still more to come in the next few days. I’ll definitely be back on the weekend to see what’s new.

I ordered: Ohagi Sweet Red Bean (a bit on the sweet side for me, but loved the texture of the soft, chunky red bean paste and the glutinous rice)

Honoka Cloud Cake (light, fluffy, not too sweet. The fruits were fresh and tarty. I really liked it. For me this was the least sweet)

Almond Milk Kanten Jelly (sweeter than the other desserts) I only ate a bit. I’ll eat the rest tomorrow.

I also got to try some Kohakutou treats, very unique. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not too sweet.

I had a wonderful experience here in Honoka Cafe! The staff was very friendly and welcoming! As an introvert I really appreciated how nice the staff was.

I love the cozy upstair sitting area, gives a homey and warm feel. Had a long meetup with some friends and we all really appreciate the cozy atmosphere.

I got the matcha latte and honestly it’s quite good. Can taste the matcha and it’s really well made! Usually when I order matcha lattes I can always taste the matcha powder, but this cafe did amazing! Matcha wasn’t too strong or too bitter, just right if you’re looking for something light yet pleasant. Spent about an hour upstairs talking with friends while enjoying the drinks!
