Pho Quinn Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine — Restaurant in Markham

Just What I Needed !!!

One recent afternoon I found myself long overdue for a meal after running around doing errands and shopping all afternoon. I was not up to the daunting task of going home and cooking. I was in Markham around McCowan Road and Highway 7 and I was getting hungry. I mentally checked off all the things I wasn't in the mood for like Burgers, Pizza, Osmo's, Congee Queen, Peruvian Chicken, Greek Sushi etc, etc. I wanted something quick and delicious. I recalled that I hadn't been to Pho Quinn since the pandemic started and was curious if the food was the same quality. Off I went to order some take-out. When I got there a few people had just left so the place for about 20 minutes was quiet. Their friendly staff took my order and I waited about 20 minutes, as I watched Uber Eats and other services coming to pick up food orders.

For this meal, I ordered the classic Fresh Rolls with (Shrimps & Pork) (2 rolls) filled with Shrimp, pork, vegetables & vermicelli rolled in rice paper wrap. I also ordered another Pho Quinn Classic, Grilled Pork, Spring Rolls, Shredded Pork & Shredded Pork Skin with Vermicelli. Yummmmmm!!!! A quick and easy, mid-range meal, full of flavour and made fresh while I was waiting. I can't wait to come back here again, to eat inside the restaurant...

I dont know whats wrong with this restaurant or its server, if theyre racist because my husband was the only black guy in the entire place, but they singled us out very badly and our service was down right horrible. Everything we asked for we had to ask for twice after hunting the servers down. They didnt give us any water until i asked for it the third time and they brought us half filled dirty cups that were different than everyones elses cups, when i looked over at the other tables everyones cup was full and clean. When i first waved the waiter over to ask for something he immediately brought me the check asking if were ready to leave even though he just handed our food to us 5 minutes before. Didnt talk to us, didnt tell us what was good, barely wanted to look at us, the only time i was able to get their attention was when they were attending to people AROUND us but did not want to make eye contact with out table. We didnt come in on any type of bad energy or behavior, we came to eat and were polite and clean, which is why it was so confusing why the second we walk through the door they were not willing to have us. Pho was delicious! Bun (Vermicelli) was really good too. The only knock I had was that I had flag someone down to take my order. I had been ready a while. Meanwhile a chinese family of 5 that got seated after my son and I were quickly attended to. BTW when my son and I were waiting to get a table. This same family of 5 - the mother came into the restaurant after us and instead of waiting patiently like my son and I were to be seated, she headed straight past everyone waiting to request a table. I wish people were a little more respectful of others waiting in a queue. Also the restaurant should handle this better. It really irks me when people jump the queue and I have to complain to say we were there before them.

My son's pho noodle soup came out quickly, and as I saw other tables that got seated after us get their orders, I had to flag down someone again to see if they can find my order. My son was already 3/4" done when they brought out mine. The food was great, but when others seem to get preferential service for some reason. That takes away from the whole experience.

Conclusion: food is terrific, but when it comes to service, be prepared to be overlooked if you aren't in the...
