I was absolutely delighted by the cake that I received! It was my grandma’s 90th birthday celebration and our family hasn’t had a big gathering in a long time. I volunteered to get the cake, but then soon became stressed about sizing, wording, colour, etc. My friend recommended Panash Bakery on Hwy 7 and after speaking to an employee there, it helped me make my decision quite quickly. She gave me suggestions and explained the process to me, but since the manager wasn’t there she advised me to return back to get a quote for a customized cake. I was sold really quickly because of the professionalism, how understanding and accommodating they were. I ordered the fruit fiesta for the filling, but I had particular requests (e.g, minimal white frosting, chinese message 福如東海 壽比南山, and 2 壽桃). When I spoke to the manager, she knew right away about what to avoid on a 90th birthday cake in Chinese tradition, so she was also able to give me suggestions on what they could do. The baker 師傅 did a fantastic job and totally went above and beyond with the design of the cake. I never knew they could make cakes like this here. The baker even helped us carry it out to the car because the cake was heavy.I think they had to use 3 boxes to put the cake into a box to be transported. It was very creative! They made the box look like a house and had a clear window on the side so you could peek inside to check on the cake. Everyone loved the cake at the celebration, both young and old were all trying to snap a picture of the cake. We had a huge crowd just stand in front of the table taking pictures of the cake. Everyone complimented on the adorable touch where the baker put a doll resembling a grandma as a cake topper. People were asking if they could take it home because it was so cute, but of course granny got to keep it. The fruit was fresh and the icing was not heavy at all. The elders enjoyed the cake as it wasn’t too sweet and the younger people were lining up for seconds. There were compliments all around about the cake. It was an awesome choice for me to choose Panash. I would definitely be recommending this place to others for cake. Thank you so much for the amazing and beautiful cake!

Lovely HK bakery :) Service was friendly and a good opportunity to practice my Cantonese. Mango mochi was delicious and I was surprised by the variety they had! Also bought some bolo baos (pineapple buns) and they were really good.

Due to high blood lipids, I haven't dared to touch pastries for a long time. Today, it's sweltering in Toronto, but I accompanied my daughter to PANASH BAKERY, highly praised by her classmate. While waiting in line, I curiously observed the display of "authentic ingredients" in the store. Boxes of fresh mangoes, high-quality "Japanese white sugar," 100% natural edible spices, premium Sichuan Fritillaria and almonds... My daughter bought various buns and sesame balls that she loves. At the checkout, the cashier was so kind to place the BBQ pork pastry on top of the other bread to prevent it from being crushed and affecting its appearance and taste. Upon hearing that we were planning to bring snacks to our friend's cottage the next day, the manager came over and specifically advised us to refrigerate the sesame balls we bought today and consume them as soon as possible. He even asked what we were having for dinner tonight and recommended a few beverages. In just a few minutes, the manager and the staff displayed keen observation and thoughtful service, which impressed me immensely. At that moment, my daughter let me taste a custard bun, which was deliciously chewy, and the beverages were not overly sweet. I immediately signed up for a membership card. As PANASH has two stores, regardless of the branch, as long as I enter my phone number, I can earn points for my purchases. The staff also informed me that on my birthday, I will receive a small cake as a birthday gift. Here in Panash, I found the long-lost warmth and hospitality.

To be honest I liked this place, it offers good quality of pastries n i always come here for a special drink they have. I was there finished picked up the buns and also ordered a piece of cake at the counter and the lady advised me to go to the counter for check out. There was line up and of course I lined up for my turn to check out. Finally it's my turn and I put down my tray and there was a lady suddenly came from behind and stood in front of the cashier and pointed at the back of the counter, and the cashier just grab her order and continue with the check out. The cashiers at the front obviously know it was not that lady's turn but they decided to pretend everything was alright. To be honest if they have the courtesy to say "she had her order ready and we just need to check out for her". I would be okay even tho I don't think it's right. When its finally my turn, I asked the cashier "why the previous lady cut in line?". The cahsier tried to pretend didn't hear me or understood but I wouldn't let it go and asked again why she cut in line? First they just said oh she already had order ready, then I said "but what is the purpose of lining up then?" (Obviously i had my order ready at the counter too) Then the cashier tried to blame her coworker said " oh she's new she didn't know." That's the funniest answer ever. I told her this is not my first time to come here and I come here often enough to know they are not new. They both went silent for few seconds as they knew they got caught and probably did not think i would speak up or i was stupid enough to not realized what just happened. Then the main cashier tried to give me some cookies for making it up i think? But i refused and said thank you. First, if they wanted to commodate their regular customer, i understand (but i dont agree) but please have the courtesy to get my permission. Otherwise have a separate cashier to serve your regular customers. Second, if you got caught for doing something it's not right, just be honest, a simple sorry could make thing much easier. Giving out those kinda excuses just would make thing even worse. The owner (I believe he is and I talked to him before) witnessed the whole incident, and I hope he will seriously think about how the store should be operated in a professional manner. My daughter wanted a mango cake for her birthday next week and was thinking to order from them, but i did not even have the mood to ask them as i just paid and left. today's incident absolutely made me reluctant to do so. Of course they might not care because I'm not their "regular" or "high...

The food (bread, pastry, cake) are quite decent in quality. You also can join the loyalty program (which we did but not very happy about it). There are two tiers you can choose from, which is the free one or the premium one (for prepaid $99). You can use the $99 for purchases. They also give your a voucher for the premium membership (see store for detail in you incline to join) you can use for some of the items.

What we have problem with is the way the staff handle things. When we get the membership they told us it will be $99 (which we didn't know it was the premium nor there is a free membership option, not until we notice the poster in the store later) and the welcome bonus is one bun, or two tarts. We agreed with the membership and selected our welcome bonus, but then noticed the poster regarding the difference between free and premium, so we raised our concern to the staff about the difference (2 buns or should be 4 tarts vs just one buns for the free membership) and we were told that it's 2 tarts, different from what our understanding earlier.

Doesn't really want to argue over a bun, we left the store. Returned in a different day, wanted to use the $10 voucher. Was told that the voucher is only to applicable items, which is fine, but was told we can't use the voucher on some of the item we selected. We selected 3 items and was suggested to get 3 more to waive the tax, so we did, only to hit with 2 bills because the voucher only applicable to some of the items 🙄 and end up buying 6 items WITH tax. Went back to ask for an explanation and was told that's the way they handle this.

Like I said above, the items are decent, quality is okay, price on the high side, but the east the staff handle these two situations we have so far are very questionable and confusing. Not sure if I'm returning after we spent the remaining in the account. I would not recommend joining the membership...
