A diamond in the rough. Over the years, my wife and I have explored numerous Indian restaurants across the Greater Toronto Area with friends, family, and other couples. Some were memorable, others less so. Then, by sheer luck, we stumbled upon Bombay Grill on Hwy 7 in Markham. Since that discovery, our search for the best Indian cuisine came to a delightful end.
Every dish we’ve savored at Bombay Grill has been authentically delicious, consistently outshining all other Indian restaurants we've tried. For the past two years, it has been our go-to spot for Indian cuisine.
The service is impeccable, thanks to Dita or AJ, who are part of the family that owns this charming establishment. Their warmth and hospitality make every visit special. The prices are very reasonable, adding to the overall appeal.
The interior of Bombay Grill is simple and unassuming, reminiscent of a cozy neighborhood eatery. While the dining area might not attract many patrons to sit and dine, there is a constant stream of customers picking up large takeout orders. This steady flow of takeout traffic suggests that people love the food and the prices, even if they might prefer enjoying it at home rather than within the restaurant’s modest ambiance.
If you haven't tried Bombay Grill yet, I highly recommend it. Perhaps you’ll uncover the charm behind this phenomenon and fall in love with it...

I should have said something to the staff in person but the first time I felt awkward to call them out, maybe it was a one off refill, and the second time they had already retreated to the back by time i went to use it. I must say that kind of grosses me out because if that's the front facing customer experience during a pandemic, I worry about what practices go unseen...
Although the place smell a little oily, the food is so clean and fresh. I never feel bloated after I eat here. I enjoy getting take away and I've never dined in before. I've eaten from here about 4 times and it's consistently good. Food for my husband and I racks up to about 50 dollars and we always have left overs.
I actually drive from...
Read moreI am pretty fussy about good Indian food! I am lucky to have found out about Bombay Grill ands the delights that AJ (the knowledgeable and affable host) serves up! This is a family run restaurant and the food is outstanding! You have to try the Onion Bhajia as appetizers, plenty and very tasty with a good helping of tamarind sauce for dipping. My favorite dish is also on their menu, that many Indian restaurants cannot serve up - thats the Dhansak dish. It is a sweet and spicy Parsee dish made with several daal ground with veggies into an incredible sauce- comes in Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Shrimp and Fish styled. Their breads are all Tandoor baked and I recommend their Garlic Naan (to die for!) They are very reasonable in price, clean and amazing service from AJ or his sister! Eat-in or take-out, your choice. Very highly...
