Location: In Matane’s downtown core. Street parking is available - pay attention to the signage to make sure you don’t overstay your welcome. We parked across the street from the bar and it was max 2-hour parking. I’m not sure if it’s the same on other streets.
The place: So from what I gathered, they have two places (next door to each other). I think one is bar/beer only while the one we went to also serves food (don’t quote me on that ‘cause I might be wrong). Anyway, it’s a typical pub/bar vibe, casual, cozy.
The goods: we went twice because the first time was just too good. We stopped in for dinner on the night we got to Matane, and ordered the fish and chips. The fish was delicious and fresh, the crust was perfect - crispy but not oily at all. The skinny fries were great and the sangria I ordered was refreshing and tasty. I went back today and ordered the shrimp guedille, served with fries. It was great. I tried the cheese cake and it was amazing - super soft and creamy, not like the usual cheesecake. The folks I was with on both occasions, loved their meals as well.
Service: Friendly.
Price point: It can be a little on the pricey side, but I think it’s worth it.

I had one of the grilled cheese sandwiches, bacon and brie along with some kind of lunch meat (there may have been some spinach in there too if I remember correctly) and it was okay but not amazing. An intense smokey flavour but a little one note. Their beer was better, which makes sense, and my dad especially enjoyed their house made blonde beer. The lone waitress was doing her best but the place seemed to be quite understaffed and my family had to wait quite a long time to be seated upon entering the restaurant despite there being empty tables. The best thing about La Fabrique was the great indie classics playlist which contributed much to...

The waitress was very attentive and answered my questions in English when I wasn't sure what some words meant on the menu. Our meals were a gouda/bacon burger and fries for my husband and a tao chicken burger with a tasty salad for me. Chicken was large! Get extra napkins. ...
