I’ll save you some time reading: Eat somewhere else if you’re going to see a concert here. This was the first and last time for me, which is really too bad because this is such a cool spot to see music.
Detailed review
We arrived at 6:40 on a Saturday evening for a concert that was supposed to start at 8:15. The place was admittedly packed with people in the two outdoor tents. Our server arrived at 7pm to take our drink order, then came back at 7:15pm with the drinks and took our food order. She didn’t write anything down. She came back at 7:35pm to clarify what was ordered and took a second drink order. The number of people in the tents started to dwindle as they headed into the venue for the show. She came back at 7:45 with one of the 3 drinks that were ordered on the second round. She came out again at 8:00pm and told us not to worry, that the show wouldn’t start without everyone being served. She also told us that our pizzas were going in after the table who were sitting next to us…whose pizzas were in the oven. She took a drink order to get the two drinks she missed and brought those back pretty quickly because only two tables were left in the tent. At 8:15 she came back out and the people at the table next to us asked where their food was…she said it would be out “any second” but that they had new staff in the kitchen and she was very frustrated by how long everything was taking and she had no control over the situation. She also told our table the same thing. At 8:30pm she came back out and there were still no pizzas so the people at the table next to us asked to get them in boxes so they could put them in the car and not miss the concert. We asked for the same thing. She said sure and brought us the bill. The bill was for the exact number of drinks and pizzas we had ordered. We went in to pay and the pizzas still weren’t ready…so when I handed my bill to the cashier and she entered it into the payment terminal I just hit enter twice and paid without leaving a tip. The cashier looked at it and put it into the little holder on the counter with what seemed like frustration. The other couple with us asked if they could take something off the bill based on the issues and our server said she would, then she looked at me and asked me to give her my receipt so she could reverse it and give me a discount. I politely declined and said that I had already paid it and would just like my pizzas, she continued to insist until I lost my temper and said “I’ve been here for more than two hours and have waited over 1.5 hours since ordering for a couple of pizzas and I’m not interested in having the charge reversed after I’ve paid and you only realized you should have done something about the service on the bill because you were asked”. She gave us the same speech about it being the kitchens fault and not hers right in front of the kitchen staff and management and nobody said a word. It felt very much like she wanted to reduce the bill thinking she would get a tip, not because the service was absolutely awful.
We finally got our boxed pizzas at 9pm. When the people who were at the table with us said something in response to her apology for it taking so long she essentially called me childish because she didn’t think to reduce the bill until she was asked and showed zero ownership for her terrible service.
The pizzas were mediocre, probably due to the kitchen being so behind and the...

A friend share this place with me, loving it so much that she works part-time here as a supplement to her busy corporate existence. Every once in awhile you find a gym that has been crafted with great attention to detail period.
The Neat Cafe is not a restaurant. It is something far different and more amazing period every aspect of this place has been carefully curated from its decorative embellishments down to the drink menu. Nothing here is standard or mainstream.
Their wood oven pizza is fantastic, and each individual recipe they offer on their menu is thoughtful and an amazing blend of flavor and creativity. The appetizers, homemade soups, and Artisan only beer selections ensure that your internal experience will equal or exceed the pleasing Aesthetics and service offered by the staff.
The Neat Cafe is located in nestled down in a tiny Valley in Burnstown Ontario. Quite honestly I would think that the other restaurants in this area probably deliver an awesome experience in their own right.
On top of creating this funky little destination point, there is another gem, hidden away in it's property. This unsuspecting place also hosts Musical and comedy acts year-round with some fairly big name artists coming to perform for small crowds of less than 100 people.
The cocktail list, the beer, the pizza, the soup, the food, it's all fantastic. If you find my review, in a world of Deceit and obfuscation I give you my word that nothing here in my words was embellished or solicited. I am a simple man married to a simple woman, and both of us are immensely encouraged by a road trip through beautiful country followed by an amazing meal. Read moreI really wanted to like this place, and tried my best to give it the benefit of the doubt after a few visits with less-than-great service, but my last experience was pretty bad. It seemed like a busier-than-usual sunday morning there so it's understandable to wait a little extra time for food, however it took 20 minutes to get 4 cups of regular coffee. The food was a whole other mess, after our group of 5 ordered within seconds of each other, the first two dishes took over an hour to arrive. The next came about 10 minutes after that and then the last two guests with us were stuck waiting, watching us each for another 15 minutes. Once everyone had their food we noticed that one was missing a side, the two identical breakfast pizzas were made differently (one was missing a topping) and they completely forgot a salad AND a juice altogether. We finished eating all our meals and then a full hour and a half after we first ordered, the missing salad arrived to remind us of how poor the organization of this place was. I have to wonder how it would have gone if we didn't check-up on the orders 4 times throughout. I must say that the food was actually good tasting, fresh, and well-made. And I could have just picked a bad day, but it was just upsetting to sit there waiting because if we hadn't already paid at the time of ordering we would have walked out and saved ourselves...
