Today’s special of 2 fish and chips for $9.99 + beverage was double worth the going. Craving for greens my fries were exchanged for a fresh salad. 🥗
[There’s nothing more disappointing when boxed store fish are served. Guaranteed: At Joey’s that will NEVER be the case.]
Joey’s freshly prepared fish always takes me back to ocean vacations and family gatherings. It’s happy 😃 hour indeed.
Exciting times: New on their menu 3 Tatar sauce variations: India’s spices bazaar Pakora batter with mango pickles; *Beunos Aires Chimichurri and *Japanese sauce with wasabi. Can’t wait to try them all!
Padha our friendly waitress made sure we are having a great time, the meals steaming hot and Mike’s limonade icy cold.
Be sure to check out the weekly specials and vegan, gluten free options.
Thanks chef and staff for keeping it so enjoyable and affordable.

Our group of friends went to Joey’s to celebrate the passing of winter. Zesty Cajun combo, Buddha bowls, coconut shrimp, home salad and my personal favourite, Salmon got shared. We brought with us small containers for leftovers, but there were none, simply because it was too deliciously prepared to stop eating. We wanted to meet the chef and showered him with compliments ! I could imagine the parking lot turning into a beachfront, with the Fish shack waiting for fishermen to come in. That’s how fresh and delicious the fish tasted. Service is great and reasonable prices count for dining out there more often. The variety is endless. Thanks for the “Hour-on-the-beach“ Medicine...
Read moreI got my order from Skip so this is based solely on the food itself. I got my bag and of course they included a lot of the fixings for my fish and chips including an individual small cup of ketchup, tarter and there was vinegar and salt in the bag. I love salt and vinegar on my fries, and the fries themselves were so crispy and perfectly fried. They were my favourite part of the meal. However, as I got to the fish things got pretty depressing. The fish was battered, and the batter itself was very delicious and crispy. I would have enjoyed it if the fish wasn’t so dry, rubbery and tasteless, it was like gnawing on an old sandal. There was also a few bones in the filet which was kind of disturbing. I stopped after a few bites and had to discard it. I was starting to get nauseous from that fish.
To be perfectly honest I probably won’t order from here again based on the performance of the fish. This was my first time ordering from here and a place that boasts their specialty best fish and chips and fails to deliver like that, it’s pretty damning. I haven’t sat in the restaurant yet and actually had the whole experience of the restaurant, but if I had I definitely would have sent this meal back still, and asked for a properly fried fish. I love fish and chips, especially when I don’t have to make it myself! But this was kind of insulting and really a waste of money for what might have been an expensive cut of seafood. But once they fried the life and taste out of it value was lost. I would be ashamed to spend...

Unwelcoming staff..... go here quite often but its definitely not for the service.
What they lack In etiquette they make up for in yummy fish ^_^/
Perhaps the staff need a raise? Or their management is terrible? Do they even get their tips ?
Retail and the service industry can drain a person (believe me I know), customer after customer, so much demand for what seems like such little reward....but it's hard to want to visit there, it's hard not to take it personal, its definitely harder to leave a tip ( but do ) hopefully in hope's the attitude can some what change....
Burn out is all too real, and although I can sympathize, it's harder on the business. Not many people are as forgiving ...
Either way these poor servers hate you the minute you sit down and it shows .....
We just really...
